We don't know that they passed on Michkov for non-hockey related reasons. If anything drafting a D probably means they drafted for hockey related reasons.

Only reason we don't get picks 7 and 22 is because Kent knew Ari wanted Reinbacher so bad, and so didn't think he could get Reinbacher at 7..
And the only reason Briere would give up 7 and 22 at all in the first place, IS to get to 5 TO take Michkov..

If there's one position Montreal can draft it's defense. The kid is good. Imo, he's in Jiricek range. If you like Jiricek, you'll like Reinbacher.

He'll likely play in Laval next season.

Slafkovksy, Mesar, Reinbacher, and Newhook is a bad haul from two years of tanking.

I guess this ensures we're on the tankwagon next year. I really don't see how it's feasible.
