Michkov's current contract doesn't count against the cap because he's U21, his next contract will count though, and the KHL has hard cap so there is no point for him to resign.

In that type of situation it wouldn't be a hurdle for him to extend if he would decide so, as at the moment of extension the NHL contract wouldn't be active, so not much sense in all that anyway.
