I think you're giving us to much credit. If you didn't say anything, how many people would even realize that we still didn't have an asst coach or that Sweeney is no longer listed as the alternate governor?
How about this:

Don't totally trust the source, but heard John McLean will be the new eye in the sky assistant coach.

Why has the team not posted a training camp schedule yet? We're getting pretty late in the day.

I'm ambidextrous. I write right (my teacher made me grrr), throw right, shoot right. I bat left and kick left. If I had been a hockey player I would have shot right. I can use my left hand in many situations & that came in very handy when I had my shoulder operation.

I know I've spoke of this before but I'd love to see one day a player who shoots RH/LH based on the situation. If I was fringe prospect, I think I'd like to think I'd practice that - any edge I could get to make it to the pros, I'd be all over.

I like new blood but MacLean doesn’t seem to have a great record or a history of working with good teams, at least, in this millenia. Hopefully he’s better than his record.

His first stint with the Devils went well but outside of that, his track record is not great as a coach or assistant.

I do like that he's got Stanley Cup pedigree as both player and a coach. I'm not sure why he was more appealing than others but these sorts of hires I don't think we'll ever get the inside scoop of how/why.

Like Gordie Howe or Chris Chelios?

McLean not the former NJ Devils

Different McLean

My daughter:

Writes, eats, bats, golf’s left handed.

Throws, kicks, shoots and dribbles right handed.

Probably the only left handed writer I know who couldn’t dribble lefty.

A full on lefty.

Do nothing right.

Had a kid in the neighborhood who hit right and threw left. Thought that was really odd.

I'm right handed. Hockey left, golf left, bat left. Putt right.

I do. Many of my hockey friends do.
I think we can take that "extremely rare" point and flush it down the toilet now.

5 to 7% of golfers play golf lefthanded. Of those, how many do you think are considered "right handed" in everything else? And 5-7% is way higher compared to the percentage of professional golfers are lefthanded versus play once in a charity scramble every year.
