Sure seems like this is gonna be the lineup. Poitras and beecher winning roster spots has multiple my excitement for this season by like 10x. I'm pumped for opening night.
It is a solid line up. My concern is on the 3rd pairing but they've got a good chunk of time to develop chemistry with the way the schedule is to start the season.

Poitras has 9 games to keep showing them why he belongs in Boston full time.

The future has arrived and it is bright.

Not for the guys hoping to be claimed...

Has anyone been claimed of all the team waivers?

That's fantastic...Let's see if Brown and Greer are worthy of being claimed....doubt it. In fact they may jeopardize the development of some of the younger players in Providence.
Brown was a captain of AHL teams for two franchises already - don't think he's going to jeopardize any younger player by being on that roster

I'm good with everything except JVR. I get the logic, just don't think he's the guy and I think he brings down what would otherwise potentially be a great line.
I'd still try to find a way to trade Gryz, use Lohrei, and maybe add a better winger for the top 6 instead of JVR.

Lohrei probably sent down. Heinen probably signed.

Nothing wrong with the kid getting all the reps in the A.
Yup. Let him play as much as he can handle in the AHL. Only a matter of time before he's called up and he'll go from there. Lots to be excited about.

Funny you mention this.

ESPN used to have a show call the Science of Sports or something similar.

The dressed an actual Sumo Wrestler in goalie gear and out him in the net to test out that theory and had George Parros, who might have had 10 career goals at the time shoot at him.

He picked him clean and most of the time and it was really funny to watch.

This one too

Let’s go!!

Also means we our gonna sign Heinen

Or if Greer or Brown passes waivers, they can be the 13th F, right?

JVR, Marchand, JDB, Zacha, Pasta, Coyle, Poitras, Geekie, Frederic, Beecher, Looch, Lauko = 12

Greer, Brown or Heinen

If that's the lineup I'd like to see Poitras continue to develop to eventually swap with Coyle so they both are slotted to their strengths.

Love the fourth line, third has a nice combination of grit and skill until Poitras is centering Marchand and DeBrusk. JVR with Zacha and Pasta adds a net front presence and he will put home some of the rebounds from Pasta.

2 great D in Mac and Lindholm. Carlo is above average and Shattenkirk should help PP2. Grizz and Forbort need to be upgraded.

Goaltending is top 5 in league but losing Bergeton and Krecji will hurt overall team D.

Playoff team, if Poitras, Beecher and later Lohrei make an impact could win a round or two.

Hate the idea of Heinen being here, holding out hope he doesn't get signed.

Credit where credit is due . I think management read the tea leaves perfectly. Especially if they sign Hienen.

Not hating on Lohrei I think he'll be back up before seasons end but I could see why they would send him down to work on a few things.

Finally this lineup perfectly reflects what I saw in the pre-season.

If that was the intention why would they be waived? They are waived for assignment.

I read somewhere on here that Sweeney was also concerned about the number of contracts they have which had something to do with Heinen not being signed yet.

Maybe Sweeney doesn’t care which of the 3 is the 13th F and waived those two to see of someone takes one.

If so, they sign Heinen without adding a contract to the total.

If neither gets claimed, maybe Greer or Brown is the 13th F and Heinen gets released and they have the same # of contracts they started with.

Yeah, I could see Brown making it back at some point if injuries occur or if Beecher/Poitras struggle,

In terms of Greer, maybe he come back at some point, but really I'd have him as around the 17th best forward this team has

I know you're not a Hiene fan but all that is wishful thinking. Even if they send them down those contracts still count. If they intended on making them the 13th F why would they risk losing them on waivers ?

Like I said.

If one gets claimed, they add Heinen and have the same number of contracts they started the day with.

If neither gets claimed, maybe Heinen isn’t offered a contract.

In essence, maybe they only want 2 of Heinen, Brown or Greer to have contracts, but don’t really care which two they are.

I don’t think you’re risking anything with guys like Patrick Brown or AJ Greer hitting waivers. It’s TC. Every team is sending their own versions of each down.

Hate to burst you're bubble but sending those two down has signing Hienen written all over it.

3rd pairing s atrocious, the weakest one of the league, those two were the worst players of the camp, sad that no young gun can replaced them
