Snuggerud might go top 10 in a redraft at this point, between his freshman year at Minnesota and this tournament. Hands, size, and shot all look there.

Don't know what to expect in the knockouts.

They won the group, but I still don't feel like they've played particularly well on the whole. (This was their best game) They're still going to need to find offense somewhere else outside of the power play and the Cooley/Snuggerud line.

A good but not great performance. But they're slowly getting better and it's something to build on into the QF. They did what they had to do to get Germany in the QF, which is a best case scenario.

They smothered Finland in the 1st and were unlucky to come out of that period tied. The score from there was not representative of the play, either. Finland put up a lot more shots in the final 40, although they didn't create many dangerous chances. A lot of Finnish shots were low quality.

They lost their way a bit from how they played in the 1st where they were cycling the Finns into exhaustion. I think they got overconfident and the individualism started to take over, and it let Finland get into their game. If they play the way they did in the 1st, they'll be a tough out for anyone.

On the player side that was by far the best performances from Hughes and Hutson. Hughes was a commanding presence, and Hutson finally was dancing out there like we're used to seeing. I don't know what Brindley needs to do to get a better line assignment but he deserves it. Snuggerud's best game - drove the net hard, got the puck on net, and made some nifty passes.

Ufko had a rough game. Too many turnovers and too many odd man breaks where he's the one caught up ice. Cooley put up points but it wasn't a good performance. Too much individualistic, low percentage plays. Hopefully they talk to him about it as he had dropped that against the Swiss.

They need to clean up the penalties. Yes, a lot of those calls were extremely weak IIHF specials, but your bottom 4 forwards can't take 3 penalties and you can't take that many lazy stick penalties, especially in a game where the opposition struggled to generate quality chances at even strength.

The more I watch Lambert, the more I think he might be one of the least impressive players I've ever seen get discussed a lot on these forums. Boy is he an extremely flawed and overrated player.

- It was a good effort but I am bit worried how D is holding up against Canada or Sweden.
- Too many stupid and pointless penalties
- Pecknold's own boy wasn't good.
- Best part of today was that team looked fired up. Considering how spiritless they have been, it was nice to see the whole bench fired up when Brindley took hit etc.
- Augustine was solid but not tested.
- Top line is finally looking like a top line but I think that it would be better to move Gauthier elsewhere.

Canada will obviously be a handful for the defense if they meet but I'm less worried about the Swedes. Like us, they're really young (we can both return 11 players next WJC) and they don't have a bunch of standout talent. The Swedes would be dangerous and could certainly punish us, but I don't think they're more dangerous than the other top teams sans Canada.
