I really like Gaucher's game. He provides the grit that this team needs. Bankier is very unspectacular, but plays a solid game, also, and seems to have embraced his role as a 4th liner. If Fantilli swallows his pride and can do the same, he would be one hell of a 4th liner on this team, which, IMO, they need.
I agree with the poster above that Beck might be the best option to replace Dach.

Boy. How far the mighty have fallen when all the pundits were initially calling this the best Team Canada since 2003. Another clear case of being wary of the consensus. With mediocre goaltending, a largely slow defence and few dynamic forwards, this iteration of the Team Canada may ironically turn out to be one of the worse teams since 2003. This team will only go as far as Bedard can carry it. The hand wringing about the state of Canadian hockey after a one and done result in the elimination round is looming.

The mediocre goaltending put up a .950 save percentage against the Swedes last night. He's got a 1.22 and .939 in the tournament. Mediocre.
Bedard has been in on more goals than every team in Group B and only 1 less than the entire US team. Take away all the goals he's been in on, and do the same with the US and their top scorer and his 7 points, and Canada has as many goals as the US.

The present state of Canadian hockey is they've won gold/silver/gold the last 3 WJs. The only time Sweden, who is a good team, got anything going last night was on the pp. It looks to me like they're getting better every game.

Wanna bet on that one and done in the elimination round?

What’s the story with Bolduc? Could you imagine how good this team would have been with Johnston and Mctavish as well…
Bolduc complained to the media that it is more difficult for players from Quebec to make team Canada, since he didn't get power play time at the camp.

Beck makes the most sense for the role that is likely to be given. As we all knew he was a lock all along, just had to be patient.

The Dach family has terrible luck with the WJC.

So the story is that he is pretending that French Canadian players are victims so that he doesn’t have to face reality of not being good enough to make the roster.

Too bad it wasn't Ryan Greene.

Would have been an upgrade over Dach.

But we all know about the bias against him.
