Since it seems the Ducks will likely finish bottom 5 this year, I figured we should have a thread for discussing the implications of where the f***s will finish in the standings. As well as what factors could affect where they finish.

Tonight was interesting as all bottom 5 teams earned 2 points sans the Ducks and the Hawks.

Hey Folks,

Want to clear some of the air here, Tank talk is not an issue, please talk tank to your heart’s content here, totally understand how critical it is for that Future Potential Top pick. The issue is posting in the GDT, like you want the team to lose or make posts that you are angry they are winning or won the game, or bashing the team for not tanking.

The main reason is, to respect your fellow members. The GDT is about discussion of the game on a live basis and then post game discussion and opinions. A lot of fans are not rooting for the team to lose, and everyone has their views and opinions towards tanking, and may not want to discuss tanking in the GDT

If you guys have any concerns, feel free to PM me or another mod, and would be happy to explain more in detail.

Thanks!

Leo

Sharks might piss me off more but it’d be funny if he went there and never won
I've had a distaste for Chicago since their cup days and NBC was constantly on their knees for the Blackhawks even when they weren't playing. Then with the whole Beach thing. I mean. I'm a Ducks fan first then a Knights fan. I have every reason to hate San Jose and I'd rather see them get Bedard. I hope the Blackhawks have at least ten years of miserable failure.

Hey guys, look on the bright side.
Fowler has 12 points in the last 12 and only needs 5 points to set a career high.

Silfverberg has 6 points in his last 8 games and looks sorta healthy.

will be interesting to see the reactions here if Bedard pulls over a teal sweater on draft day. what a sight that would be, and not a good one for the Ducks

I have a creeping dread that Bedard would pull an Eichel and force himself to an annoying contending team if he landed in Cbus or Arizona. SJ, Hawks or Ducks would lock him up.

Actually, I am daydreaming Bedard would rather orchestrate a trade so he can go to the Ducks to play with McTavish. Bedard and McTavish were WJC partners for three events, including the cancelled, winter WJC-20. The two text each other on the Daily, which Bedard jokingly revealed in an interview. Of course, it won't happen.

I don't think he would force a move from Columbus or Anaheim, two of his best friends are Kent Johnson and Mason McTavish, those two teams are probably top of his list as far as teams in contention for him alongside his hometown team Vancouver

I hardly voice my grievances in here because I am strongly against a ‘tanking’ argument - and people celebrating losses as if it means something in the end while being disappointed in victories. A victory here and there won’t change the current makeup of this team: it’s putrid.

If we finish bottom 4, I still say we have a good chance of moving up the lottery. I’m not obsessing over every team and who’s race it is towards the bottom.

Didn’t realize the Ducks have opened up a 6-point gap on Columbus, who drop the puck in about 90 minutes at home vs St. Louis (they’ve been off since Tuesday) before they head west for the California swing (San Jose Tuesday, here Friday). This week may very well be the last true push of them realistically making up ground (their schedule is brutal the rest of the way)
