Since it seems the Ducks will likely finish bottom 5 this year, I figured we should have a thread for discussing the implications of where the f***s will finish in the standings. As well as what factors could affect where they finish.

Tonight was interesting as all bottom 5 teams earned 2 points sans the Ducks and the Hawks.

Hey Folks,

Want to clear some of the air here, Tank talk is not an issue, please talk tank to your heart’s content here, totally understand how critical it is for that Future Potential Top pick. The issue is posting in the GDT, like you want the team to lose or make posts that you are angry they are winning or won the game, or bashing the team for not tanking.

The main reason is, to respect your fellow members. The GDT is about discussion of the game on a live basis and then post game discussion and opinions. A lot of fans are not rooting for the team to lose, and everyone has their views and opinions towards tanking, and may not want to discuss tanking in the GDT

If you guys have any concerns, feel free to PM me or another mod, and would be happy to explain more in detail.

On a scale of 1-10, I expected the team to spend most of their time around a 3 with some flashes of 4-5.

Instead they have spent most of their time around a 1 with flashes of 2.

I don't know, they have pretty much been #2 all season...

Montreal wins 5-2 in New Jersey tonight. They're now 11 up on the Ducks and it's all but time to write them off as uncatchable (personally, I don't see how we're not finishing in the bottom 3 at this rate).

The big game of the night is Chicago tied 1-1 with Vegas at the end of the first period at home. Vancouver losing 2-1 to Nashville in the second period of their game.

Cmon man...

He is 1 inch and 8 lbs less then Crosby was when he was drafted.
He is 2 inches less and the same weight as McDavid when he was drafted.

i'm preparing for that. fortunately, guys like smith, benson, and cristall all look like very solid prospects

Benson and Smith would have fought for #1 if they were in last years draft.

Way more fought after. I would have taken both Smith and Benson #1 overall last year.... but I liked Cooley most who I think is a similar level prospect as the two I mentioned. I think they are both Power/Beniers type level prospects.

What’s your takes on Fantilli and Carlsson? If we are dead last will have our choice of one of those if we lose the lottery.

For this team I'd prob take Fantilli but for a more talented team I'd go Carlsson. I want Michkov more than both though with all the risk, we aren't going to pick this high again, I'd shoot for the stars.

I can't see Verbeek drafting Michkov he's a first time GM. He's not going to want to wait 2/3 years to see a pick.

For this team I'd prob take Fantilli but for a more talented team I'd go Carlsson. I want Michkov more than both though.

I know Michkov throws a wrench with things when he will come over, but I’ve read he is right behind Bedard in talent?

As per Carlsson, I liked his tournament and he is playing against men, so would think that makes his transition to the NHL a little easier.
