Since it seems the Ducks will likely finish bottom 5 this year, I figured we should have a thread for discussing the implications of where the f***s will finish in the standings. As well as what factors could affect where they finish.

Tonight was interesting as all bottom 5 teams earned 2 points sans the Ducks and the Hawks.

Hey Folks,

Want to clear some of the air here, Tank talk is not an issue, please talk tank to your heart’s content here, totally understand how critical it is for that Future Potential Top pick. The issue is posting in the GDT, like you want the team to lose or make posts that you are angry they are winning or won the game, or bashing the team for not tanking.

The main reason is, to respect your fellow members. The GDT is about discussion of the game on a live basis and then post game discussion and opinions. A lot of fans are not rooting for the team to lose, and everyone has their views and opinions towards tanking, and may not want to discuss tanking in the GDT

If you guys have any concerns, feel free to PM me or another mod, and would be happy to explain more in detail.

Since I'm not allowed to say it elsewhere: I can't believe there's Ducks fans out there willing to cut the (potential) odds of drafting Bedard in half for a moral victory on the last game of a completely lost season.

Ducks fans rooting for a meaningless win just to "own the tank fans" just seems insanely short-sighted to me

I'd be 100% okay with securing 2nd last pre-lottery and then just forgetting it all exists for awhile.

Yeah better game to have any hope for is Chicago going big for Toews' last game. Pittsburgh showed pretty quickly they're not dejected enough to be pure ass enough to lose. Could still happen but I'm not banking on it.

I wouldn’t say zero chance. This is hockey and anything can happen. I’d say they have about a 20% chance as it stands

CBJ is dangerous offensively. But they are an absolute tire fire in their own zone. Maybe Hutchinson can channel his younger self because they figure to be able to score a few at the other end.

In general, they are the same ones who say that if the Ducks just add Scott Mayfield in free agency they'll compete for the playoffs next year.

As bad as it looked at times, scoring chances were probably even. Columbus probably can only score when one of their top two lines is out there, but they do have some firepower in their top 6.
