I never liked Winks, don’t rate Skipp at all either. It’s the British Spurs fans that love them, I don’t think international fans really rated him or Skipp.

Re: Winks, injuries in your legs that young can be a destroyer. A couple years with recurring surgery-requiring ankle problems can be devastating. He was highly rated to an extent that exceeded his potential, I think (dined out on a very good performance against Real Madrid for awhile), but was a solid midfielder with the prospects to have a Michael Carrick-esque career.
I think he'll move the needle a decent amount. There wasn't a shred of creativity in Tottenham's midfield last year. None at all. Hojbjerg was their most creative midfielder last year. He'll get double-digit assists just crossing to Kane. That's not to say he's amazing (my words above stand), but he'll do a job for them and gives them something they don't have.

I like Skipp more than I liked Winks - as long as no one asks him to be more than a defensive 6, I think he'll have a very solid career.

All of the ratings groups I’ve seen of PL players last year had Maddison rated higher given all of their attributes, not just offense.

Whats the goal here for Spurs? I dont see it, I think he's a decent talent but Id rather get younger players and build a proper squad. This is more duct tape.
It is what it is, he was rated on here and now he isnt. Thats a all im saying.
I would hope a young player has bigger aspirations than becoming "Maddison's caliber player"

I’ve just never seen a game involving Maddison where I thought to myself “wow, we really need to sign that guy” I think he’s probably a Europa League caliber player and that’s probably best case scenario for Tottenham. Don’t really have anything else say on the matter. Probably won’t get relegated this season?

I just find it funny. This is the only place I see people thinking it's a bad signing. Overwhelmingly praised everywhere else. And no, not just on biased Spurs-centric boards. £30M + a deadwood player is an absolute coup for someone like Maddison in the current market

So just so we can get something on the record, what are your expectations for next season of Maddison/your team? And how did he move the needle compared to yesterday? I find it’s funny how aggressively y’all are gassing him up; especially after the Richarlison commentary on here this time last year

I was always sceptical of Richarlison's ability, just that he isn’t this toxic asshole everyone portrays him as. I've discussed this enough previously.
Maddison will provide creativity and proactivity that Spurs midfield has sorely lacked for a long time.
