Transfer: 2023 Summer Transfer Window - Open Window Edition

Is there a fee if United do cut the loan in January? I get the loan for Spurs as Ange doesn't want him, he will get game time at United and wages are covered. What I don't is that there's no loan fee and they can cut it short, there should be one option not both. Feel like it just causes a future headache when they end the deal and you have to find him a new home.

Seems like that's definitely going through given that our 4th CB (we play a back 3) is set to leave for Stuttgart. Leite-Knoche-Doekhi is a really good trio, but they can't play every match. So even with Bonucci coming in, I think we'll have to deputize guys at CB (Trimmel & Kral) when it's time to rotate.
Don't expect much. Bonucci is finished.

Seriously, I don't get why Union want him. Is he there to teach them the Champions league anthem?
He's there to teach them the Bonucci Special.

I bring you The BonBon Ass Block

Romano reporting that Spurs are going for Gallagher. When the squad is healthy, I can understand the logic of it, and obviously the FFP benefit, but with how he's started, I don't love it. We don't need Enzo, Caicedo, Lavia, Ugochukwu, and Gallagher for the season though. And when healthy, we'll have 3 players capable of #10 role, so Enzo shouldn't have to play further up because of it.
I think Gallagher has been our best midfielder to start the season. Tottenham buying him is terrible for Chelsea.

I don’t expect much on the pitch, but we’ve done well with guys who lacked the mobility to play in other systems…and his experience should our boys get over the bright lights even if he’s done-done.

Palhinha is a monster. Surprised Fulham is suddenly taking 65MM € after reportedly ignoring all interest and we heard murmurs of a Rice-esque asking price

Sounds like Johnson to Spurs is done. Kelly and Gallagher might come too, but they depend on Spurs sending players out (Hojbjerg, Sanchez, Dier).

Come now... they've sold enough rights to random things for the next forever that it should be good?

This isn't going to go away...

If they get to 200, I think they have to consider it.

Registering players shouldn’t take this long. It is what it is though.

Honestly if LFC do this they might as well wave the white flag. You can’t lose a player that important on the last day. It’s burning a season.

I get that, and I agree.

But I have a sneaky suspicion think they're likely to finish in a similar location whether they sell him or not.

For 150 million, I'll drive him to the airport. He's gone as soon as he can get out, get the money now, they are not a lock for Europe with or without him

I don't think he's set on going.

I think he's closer to Ronaldo in wanting to win shit. I do think the money will likely be obscene to the point that even he can't turn it down, but I think he's on the wanting to play, wanting to win CL, wanting to be respected amongst the footballing greats.

Now... if Saudi snake a CL spot or two, maybe that's a different discussion.

Well you’re not a Liverpool fan. They’re not a lock with him but they will not make it without him. Klopp would likely leave as he would see this project is dead and Liverpool after rising like a Phoenix would likely revert back to looking at the glory days without much of a future.

I don't think the project is dead without him. I also think they have a shot at a European spot without him. They have attacking depth. He's a wonderful player, but the issue for me is you can't spend ANY of 200 million if you get it today. You obviously can buy in January, and isn't this an Africa Cup of Nations year? That's not the end all, but you're really missing him for 15-16 matches. Of those, really maybe half, you'd see a noticeable difference without him.

It's a LOT of money to say no to for that little game time. It would disrupt the plans. It would certainly hurt the fan base. But it's getting to be a stupid amount. I just think the plan should be for Jan or Summer.

The idea of selling him is ludicrous and shouldn’t be considered at all until next summer. Nor will it be. It doesn’t matter how much money you get for him when you can’t spend it.
