At the same time, if they offer you 250 million, it may be worth more than making the CL this year.
To be honest, I get that, and it would be a discussion to have (though I don't think they would pay that much) but at some point, two years off will only continue to exacerbate the recruitment troubles. Good players want to see CL spots. Or buckets of cash. Or London and being one of 45 players I guess.

I will say that if they could get a pretty good player in, I would gamble and take it. But if they will pay 150 now, they'll pay that come next summer.

To be clear, I don’t think they *should* sell him, even for 250-300M. I don’t think a team that wants to be competitive should be selling a player like him without a replacement, regardless of the profit, but it wouldn’t shock me if Liverpools owners did.

If he wasn't 31, I would not even consider it. But with that caveat, I think there's some discussion of moving him because the injection of funds into the squad would be more than they could hope to do.

I don't know that I'd agree with that last sentence. Otherwise sure

If they won't pay at least what Bayern paid for Kane with one year left, for the biggest Middle Eastern Muslim player in the world, then I would be shocked.
Yeah I mean LFC don’t pick up the phone unless it’s a nine figure bid, but again there is no bid.

Either way I haven’t seen many that think Salah is LFC player next season

Mm, I guess it's more that nobody predicted the breadth of the buying streak the Saudi league went on this year, it's very hard to predict what the situation will be a year from now. Very little these days can be expected to be the same from one year to the next

Honestly, had the discussion started in June, I don't think there's a chance he is a Liverpool player now. I think there's still an outside shot he isn't no matter what. They're offering eye watering money at a situation that is already filled with eye watering money. If Salah comes into Klopp today and says, my head isn't in it, I want to go, they'll sell him. Shit, I think there's a greater than zero FSG might anyhow.

At some point, Liverpool were going to need to cash in on Salah. Whether that was letting him go for 30-40 to PSG / Real, or now for a big bucket of cash, they needed to do it.

I get that the Saudi money could be gone, but the well isn't drying up tomorrow, and if anything, they're going to buy their way into the CL. Being able to add Salah to their portfolio only enhances it. If anything, the season not being complete dogshit, and Salah and others will look better at the money.

Was looking back on LFC window. If after Alexis and Szoboszlai, (if instead of messing around with Caicedo), they signed Lavia, Mickey Long Legs, and still Endo; this whole thing looks a lot better doesn’t it? Not that I am sure Lavia is any good but just talking about people they wanted; and all deals that were in the bag if they didn’t say no thank you. When I said the one thing that LFC needed to do this summer was be decisive, this is what I’m talking about. They are minus 7 and mid table on net spend. So much for a rebuild

I have given up a long time ago. Last summer was abysmal and they managed to replicate in similar fashion. Benefit of the doubt is gone for me. Hopefully that could force FSG to sell.
