They are going to do something dumb like sign Matheus Nunes. There’s no scouting anymore they are just going to sign guys from Dutch and Portuguese leagues that D.Pep has heard of. They clearly have no idea why they are struggling right now too

The other side to this is apparently Brighton has sold themselves to agents that they would be a great feeder club for young players and would let them go if big transfer fees come in. Blocking Caicedo from the move could make agents think twice on having their players use Brighton as the stepping stone club.

Submitting two rather reasonable bids led to a fraction between the clubs? WTF are these outspoken board members? Never seen a club run this way as being so social media driven for one random player. Arsenal definitely put in a bid to upset the player, no doubt about that...HOWEVER, the player's response is the main issue here and what Brighton is doing is trying to deflect blame off the player on an outside entity.

Seems they're suffering from cognitive dissonance because they purchased Moises from Independiente FC for a measly five million Euros, so who's destroying who? BHA probably used similar tactics to get him out of Ecuador in the first place as well.

Bloom made his desires known from the start. He was not going to sell until the summer, end of story. Brighton does not like to have departures in the winter, they go into each season with a plan and want to see it through. Caicedo is a big part of those plans.

The Trossard sale is an exception but it's one that was made possible by the rise of Mitoma. There is no real replacement for Caicedo in midfield so the club felt like they needed to stay firm.

Brighton have always done well by their youth, the Caicedo saga does not change that. The club gives minutes to young players and finds them good loan options where needed. When ready, the players will be given the opportunity to make the first team. Caicedo is a prime example of this.
 
Enzo is getting destroyed for his attitude in portugese papers.
Apparently threatenned to stop playing and get back to Argentina, etc...

No question Enzo pushed hard for this. Been very clear even on the Chelsea side. There were murmurs that they were willing to concede and make it so that he would sign and join next season, but Enzo pleaded otherwise.

Although not sure it went that far… but would not doubt it either.

Anyways…

Given they had been so vehement in insisting their limit was €85million up to this point, the shift could understandably be construed as a major concession to Benfica. Yet Chelsea had learned of two clubs ready to spend £100m (€112m) on Fernandez in the summer, by which time the Londoners, 10th in the Premier League at present, might not be able to offer the carrot of Champions League football.

Has to be at least one of the Manchester clubs. Maybe Newcastle? He cooked PSG?

In truth, Jorginho’s sale was not dependent on the Fernandez transfer going through. The decision to let him leave with just five months of his contract remaining was considered to be a “no-brainer”. There was no desire on either side to extend his stay at Stamford Bridge and, for all that, they parted on good terms. There remains scope for Jorginho to return in some capacity once his playing days are behind him.

Just before 11pm, an email was received but the attachment was not the correct document. It was also unsigned.

PSG re-sent the loan agreement, signed by the club and Ziyech and, once again, received an erroneous document by return — again unsigned. The right form was sent at the third attempt, at 11.03pm, and the contract was downloaded on the French league’s system a minute later. But the deadline had been missed. The source described Chelsea as “a circus”.

“Actually,” they added, “make that a Class A circus.”

Chelsea’s version of events differ slightly: they claim they pushed the button on two signed forms, though the first failed to send for technical reasons and the second was dispatched at 11pm. They were mystified by suggestions that no one had responded to a phone call. Regardless, their player had effectively been left stranded in Paris looking for somewhere to stay for the night.

We really f***ed up the Ziyech thing. Although, I am surprised the appeal was seemingly completely ignored.

Santos is tearing up the U20 and it seems this will get him a work permit now.

Boehly just reeks of a guy who's going to end up being a total embarrassment as owner of a big club. Unforgivable what's happened to the player here.

Not sure if it was just me, but I thought he was more of a defensive midfielder, but seems like he's more of a complete midfielder. Definitely one to be excited about.

Boehly was remote in this instance, but you are right that it is unforgivable.
