One other thing about Kincaid - no biggie - but he's 23. They have historically favoured younger guys with day one picks. Another change of philosophy?
and get what, a sixth in a draft with only 140 draftable players ?Please, for the love of God, Beane...trade back in the second or third
I think Dorsey is the biggest question mark now too @Ace
We have a lot of weapons now for josh. Cook can catch. Hynes can be a weapon. Knox and Kincaid should cause fits. Diggs is a true number 1. Harty is a big play threat.
Now Dorsey has to scheme this
They showed the Cowboys war room on the espn feed and they were scrambling after the Bill's went up. I'm sure Kincaid and his reps are happier catching from Allen over Dax.Like i said, Cowboys needed a TE. a lot of boards have them taking Kincaid.
So i think Bills traded ahead to get their guy.
I really have no idea what the Texans brass is thinking especially since next year's draft is expected to be better than this class.Jesus that's a haul. Arizona might pick twice in the top 5 next year.
Not terribly high based on a one year sample, but let’s see what happens this year. What’s your confidence level in the Offensive Coordinator to be able to play call to help become the next Kelce?

Given the run on WRs and OT, I don't have a problem with the pick. As a member of #TeamTradeBack, I would likely have been happier with a trade back from 27. But, if they can use him as a largely slot TE/WR (he did run 48% of his pass routes from the slot last year), then I am happy as he has run a diverse route tree and he has perhaps the best hands in the draft (2 drops in his entire college career). So are folks happy with the TE?
I'm with you on this. As posted countless times by many of us - the sweet spot of this draft is likely to be early-mid day 2, I'm only thinking about how we can trade up for Sanders/Simpson, or to beef up the OL.and get what, a sixth in a draft with only 140 draftable players ?
With only 4 remaining picks, I would be surprised by another trade up. Like last year where they traded back in the 2nd before taking James Cook, it won't shock me if they move back again today.I'm with you on this. With that said though - if we get to 59 & all the guys i like are gone... If I'm GM I'm OK with trading back to get an extra day 3 pick or two.
5 picks isn't a lot for a team on the brink of a cap crunch.
During our discussions about picking Washington you were very set in your opinion about the use of different personnel.Given the run on WRs and OT, I don't have a problem with the pick. The Bills wanted to get a 2 TE offense last year with the OJ Howard signing. Getting Kincaid means that all those plans that they had to throw in the trash bin last year can be utilized this year.
Like any draft pick, it is all about potential. Whether this works out long term will depend on Kincaid and his development, Dorsey and putting him in positions to get open, and then Josh Allen actually getting him the ball.
Kincaid over Downs all day every day IMO.Kincaid is obviously not Travis Kelce and I’m not making this a comparison of talent levels, but Kincaid has the ability, like Kelce, of sliding into open areas. It is Bease-like. That said, if you wanted somebody to fill that role, Josh Downs was the obvious choice.
Mike Gesicki to Zach Ertz is probably the more reasonable comp range to me.Kincaid is obviously not Travis Kelce and I’m not making this a comparison of talent levels, but Kincaid has the ability, like Kelce, of sliding into open areas. That is absolutely where I am at with this pick. This fits more of the Shockey/Olsen or Gronk/Hernandez 2 TE ideas more than I saw with Washington.During our discussions about picking Washington you were very set in your opinion about the use of different personnel.
But really , Kincaid is much more of a receiver than he is a true potential mismatch like Washington. So you should be relieved.
I expect they will keep Knox in line for the most part & simply use Kincaid in the same way Beasley was typically used by Daboll. As opposed to moving guys around, using Knox in other ways - as would've been the case with Mayer or certainly Washington.
Dorsey still needs to get to work - but this isn't a seismic shift in scheme or philosophy.
If Kincaid had WR next to his name instead of TE, everybody would be calling it a great pick.
Kincaid over Downs all day every day IMO.
For sure. I've been banging that particular drum about WRs harder than anyone. And we basically added another one in Kincaid. With only 4 remaining picks, I would be surprised by another trade up. Like last year where they traded back in the 2nd before taking James Cook, it won't shock me if they move back again today.
It will be interesting to see how they go.
I could see them going with an OT if they really like someone like Bergeron and he falls.
I could see them taking a MLB.
I could see them taking a DT.
I could see them taking a DE.
I would be surprised if they went WR as I think they are happier with the WR room they have than the fans are.
I disagree on DT, especially if they go with Milano-Bernard-Johnson as their 2nd level in '23. If they are that small, they need to beef up at DT, IMO.For sure. I've been banging that particular drum about WRs harder than anyone. And we basically added another one in Kincaid.
Trading up still makes sense if we can get a true difference maker though, IMO.
With Campbell gone there are no true prototypical MLBs left worth having. It's such a weak year. Do something fun like trading up for Sanders or Simpson. Never mind that Sanders is likely BPA regardless of position at this point...
DT seems redundant unless Oliver gets traded. I love the idea of trading Oliver today & instantly replacing him though.
I will spit bullets if we take any type of plain Jane DE today.
OL is always a shout. There are plenty of guys left i still like but i expect them to get picked thick & fast.
Gesicki is another good comp. I've spoken here before that I think he's generally under rated & has been under utilised in Miami.Mike Gesicki to Zach Ertz is probably the more reasonable comp range to me.
And I don't know who called him Swole Beasley after the Beane presser calling him a big version of Cole, but that nickname is awesome.
That is absolutely where I am at with this pick. This fits more of the Shockey/Olsen or Gronk/Hernandez 2 TE ideas more than I saw with Washington.
If you watch the USC game and are not excited, I don't know what to tell you.
The biggest question I have is how long will it take for him to earn Allen's trust and get targets. I believe that Dorsey will use him and he will get open. But, this is not Madden and Dorsey can't make Allen throw to specific guys.
