Before this off-season I would have said Song likely won’t ever pitch in a Sox uniform. In a weird way there’s now more of a chance that he will

The Phillies are contenders. Gonna be awfully hard for Song to stick on that roster. Another team like the Pirates could make a deal for him and try though

Possible but they’ll be in the same position. Also: if you claim him and he gets destroyed, what was the point? He needs to pitch in the minors.
He won't get claimed by a contender so it makes little difference if he gets destroyed as long as he shows any type of big league potential. I'm not saying it's likely, but he's got a higher chance of sticking with his next team than with Philly. It's tough for Song, he should be in the minors, but we'll see. There are all kinds of terrible pitchers in the majors.

Seems a little odd. Aren't these affiliates usually in lockstep? Different owners i suppose.

The TL;DR is that the arbitration process is a joke and is slanted towards the billionaire owners. VERY interesting thread that gives good insight into the process.

Well I can't say I've ever heard people calling for the state/city to be renamed. It seems changing the nickname of a minor league baseball team is an easy thing to do though.
Why would the team change its name? The Miami Nations of Indians of Indiana recognizes an opportunity to educate about the history of its tribes, their cultures, and the land.

“We are grateful to the Indianapolis Indians for the opportunity to share our story with Hoosiers throughout central Indiana,” said Brian Buchanan, Chief of the Miami Nation of Indians of Indiana. “When the history of Indiana is studied, the major influence of Native American people is seen in the names of Indiana cities, state parks, rivers, food, celebrations and other cultural points of interest. We have encouraged the team to remain the Indianapolis Indians.”
