Yup frustrating because the last 2 games were both available for the taking and they came up short, but in the same respects with the amount of baserunners SF had - both games could have looked a lot worse.

Best 4th wild card team ever! Losing 2 of 3 in SF isn't a surprise, just a reminder that making up ground in the wild card race is difficult even if it's just a couple games. I think they have enough where the GM should be adding to support this team. Doesn't have to be a major piece but just fill in a couple spots.

Yes, it is. We don't even know for sure if 90 wins is enough for WC spot #3. But even if, all the third WC-spot does is guarantee a 3 game road series.

Being a buyer with this team would be impatient. You can do that on a desperate team like the Angels who are about to lose their biggest star player, but the Red Sox are up and coming. There is simply no need to shove in chips.

I understand that this Red Sox team does not deserve to get players traded away for futures. They deserve a "puncher's chance". I am absolutely ok with it and it has manifested weeks ago. But as a team in pursuit of even the third WC-spot for basically all season, they don't deserve the franchise to sacrifice their future for the present. They simply don't.

I think they'll win that 3 game road series.

I kinda get it, but my feeling on dealing Verdugo is be careful what you wish for. Very difficult to find someone who has enough speed and arm to play RF at Fenway that's not a defensive specialist.

I agree with you. I definitely wouldn't want to trade him.

Hell baby
I guess the idea is they could put Duvall out there. Maybe they feel Cedanne is ready?

Definitely not something I’m eager for them to do, I love me some Doogie. Would obviously depend on the return and what their plan is.

The constant rumors of selling off pieces is kinda annoying to me. Kike I totally get. Was not really adding anything.

Long term I have no issue moving on from Verdugo. He's not gonna get any better than he is. Doesn't have a lot of power. But let's just say they end up trading Verdugo, Paxton, Duvall, Pivetta or some combination. I don't know how that could sit well with CDJ who called the Red Sox a wagon or anyone else that thinks this team could make a run.
