Another Olney retweet. That Peter Gammons, another troll!
I think it is clear what is going on. Bloom wants HIS OWN MANAGER which as a GM SHOULD be his call.
Ownership seems to have signed off on an average attendance of 32-33K knowing younger fans will not pay for the RF Grandstand but the seats they do sell are the highest priced in MLB.
June, July and August the Sox will sell out to tourist fans - every basball fan wants to see a game at Fenway.
It is what it is.................

No it's because his bestest friend got demoted! With Cora saying Verdugo wasn't "available" to play, could it be the prima donna had a late night/early morning that lasted until yesterday afternoon?
It sure looks to me like there have been a ton of Toronto fans here this weekendYou are correct about June/July/August. Mets and Yankees fans love a baseball weekend in Boston(saw a bunch of Mets fans enjoying Revere Beach a couple of weeks ago). Some folks in Blue Jays gear came into Buff's yesterday evening and said they've made the trip down here several times. The tourist angle is significant nowadays.
By the way, has anyone here been to LoanDepot Park? I know, it's the Marlins, it's Miami, but 13,190 a game still surprised me. And they give the Panthers grief.
The report is that he showed up late to the game, if he was drunk I’m sure we would’ve heard about it like we heard about Domingo GermanWith Cora saying Verdugo wasn't "available" to play, could it be the prima donna had a late night/early morning that lasted until yesterday afternoon?

Difference between showing up drunk and showing up hungover though. Whatever the reason is, Cora is not prone to lose it during a presser like this. No pass for Verdugo. At least the pathetic Xander Slander crew can admit X showed up to play. The report is that he showed up late to the game, if he was drunk I’m sure we would’ve heard about it like we heard about Domingo German
I think it probably has more to do with his head not being in the game than him being drunk, that’s a reckless thing to be throwing around without evidenceNot necessarily.
Didn't hear about German in the first 24 hours of his incident.

On top of that his grandmother died and his mother was recently diagnosed with cancer. It’s been a bad month, he doesn’t need people slandering him on top of that.
well I said contract issues and you clapped back with based on whatIf posters can throw around grandmother died, why not hung over? All just speculation.
No one is slandering Verdugo. I'd imagine there are plenty of MLB players that have had a few too many on occasion. The fact that the manager took him out of the starting lineup leads me to believe Verdugo showed up with a little more than a case of the blues. And if he was simply late, why not just state that?
Considering the source, this is absolutely rich.On top of that his grandmother died and his mother was recently diagnosed with cancer. It’s been a bad month, he doesn’t need people slandering him on top of that.

I enjoyed this. Papelbon just another troll!!! No reason for Story to still be at Worcester. None.

As good a time as ever to send Cora packing.
Now THIS will upset John Henry

Tickets, parking, concessions – they can add up quick at an MLB game. Here’s where it’s the worst.wgntv.com

Padres have some balls charging those prices with zero relevancy in 20+ yearsNow THIS will upset John Henry

Imagine they make Cora the fall guy, would be unreal to see the fan reactionCora, and some decent starting pitching when healthy, are the only reasons they are not in what used to be known as Orioleville. Unfortunately he is gone either way, and Bloom will keep his job.
