So then what are you really changing? You have the same guys picking the players (minus Bill), and basically the same guys coaching the team (minus Bill). That doesn't strike me as being a significant change in direction for a team that is miles away from playoff contention.

You know the old saying about insanity being defined as doing the same thing over and over again but expecting different results.......
Bill operated as a dictator- he made all the picks and all area scouts were not in the draft room. Only patriots & Seattle scouts were not in draft room - Seahawks were in adjacent room. If you watch draft the women is Paul Allen’s widow.

The Patriots guys are home watching on TV like us.

Why they can’t keep top scouts who move on.

Bill relies a lot on college coaches who know players for and against which seems to make sense but he got talked into N’keil Harry after scouts submitted a list of Deebo Samuel or AJ Brown as can’t miss - and if they aren’t there DK Metcalf

KC favored by 9? Call me crazy but take the Pats getting those points in a snoozy 1 PM kick. Chiefs by a touchdown.

Curran on WEEI at noon sure dropped more hints then the average Easter egg hunt Bill gone - mutual parting

Steve wants to stay here not go with dad and Bill feels likewise

My educated guess is Bill leaves and Steve stays on Mayo staff
And that would be a huge mistake. Need to clean house. Get fresh eyes in here.

Agree. New GM should pick coach. New coach pick staff. Enough of all this pick and choose BS where 1/2 of Bills boys are involved. All the lax Bros need to move on. And his kids need to get a job on their merit not on Daddy’s name. Blow it up!

This is spot on. The last thing this team needs is to have a Bill lemming try to run it the way Bill did. If that’s the plan, Keep bill. And I say that as someone that’s been waiting for this fraud to get fired for years now. But firing bill and then keeping things the same with his shithead lackeys is absolutely f***ing dumb. Clean house. Get different people in here with a more modern view of the sport since it’s evolving.

IT'S A MIRACLE! IT'S A CHRISTMAS MIRACLE!!!

I'll believe it when I see it.

The Score in Canada also has seemed to confirm Curran's report. Bill's out by this season.

Mayo went on to reiterate, however, that his goal is to be an NFL head coach, and he said he’d love to do so in New England.

“Hopefully, as you guys all know, one day I want to be a head coach,” the 37-year-old said. “Where that is, I don’t know. But at the same time, I would say I have a lot of love for New England. I have a lot of love for the fans, the people around the building, and my family, they love it here, as well.

NESN 12/12

You don’t NOT date Marilyn Munster because her family is batty

You don’t burn an organization to the ground because you are removing an incompetent coach who only won 6 SB

Mayo & Maye is the Way

Btw- if they are drafting a QB round 1 gotta release Mac

Nope - Mayo & Maye is the way

Mayo? Sure. Jerod seems to have Bill's best qualities but in a mind more adapted to the modern game. Especially on the defensive side of the football. As long as he picks up Bill's classic gamesmanship and none of Bill's...*ahem* "mercurial behaviors"...then there should be no issues.

Maye? Oh hell naw. This team should stay away from that kid with a ten foot pole. He reeks of being Mitch Trubisky 2.0 and this team can't afford another dud. I would rather the Patriots take Marvin Harrison Jr at #2, hell even at #1 if the Patriots land on it because I don't trust Caleb Williams either. So the Pats should draft Marvin Harrison Jr and then draft Jayden Daniels at the top of the second round. That to me is a better way to play this than going with a QB from North Carolina or USC. Two schools that are bad at producing NFL ready QBs.

Everybody has been wrong before
Oh I get that it's going to be Mayo. I just think it's a major f***ing mistake to replace Bill with one of his acolytes because his coaching tree sucks and it will still be run the same way, but with a lesser coach than Bill. Since Bill's way has been absolutely exposed as not good enough at this point, where does sticking to that formula get you?

It's alright though, They'll eventually realize it and fix that mistake. Sucks that it's going to be a two step process and take longer than it really should, but what can I say? I was onto Bill being a total f***ing fraud years ago and it's taken this long for the rest of the world to catch up. :naughty:

I 100% I watch very little college football - a game a week max so I’m a Maye bandwagoner

I do really like Harrison and I know of Daniels but not I depth

I’ll defer to you here - if they go that way I’m fine

I have hard core football buds that are saying draft Harrison and come back with the QB where you got

Sounds good

Lot of Maye love but I sure am no expert on him - Trubisky comp is scary

Here is what goes down

Bill & Kraft will have a very amicable breakup

Mayo is coach

Steve and Brian will remain on staff and should

Bill as more worried about kids then his future - Steve got 4 kids under 7 they bought a home here and love it here

Players off record love him

Bill doesn’t really want them going with him anyways creates additional BS for all

They should but they won't and it will make the "rebuild" drag on longer than needed.
1. With Judon & Gonzalez back minimum top 10 D

2. New QB or WR first pick

3. 100 + M cap space in FA

They will win 9 or more games next season

3-14 Bay State Patriots leads straight to Drake Maye, personal choice. Stay far away from any one of the Sanders family football grifters, sound advice. Belichick to Commanders for one last stand. Multiple-coach-wannabes era to dominate and the media will feast for next half decade on life-at-the-bottom adventures of the Bay State Patriots. Prepare for all eventualities.

First year first time coach in Mayo says that’s not going to happen. Especially with a rookie quarterback on top of it all. I’d bet vital parts of my anatomy that when they go this route, it will be followed up by several more losing seasons.

When all is said and done I don't think Daniels will be there in 2nd round.
