The Patriots’ playoff hopes officially came to an end Sunday.


New England was eliminated after the Cincinnati Bengals defeated the Indianapolis Colts, 34-14, in Week 14. This is the earliest the team has been eliminated since 2000.


It’s the sixth time the Patriots fail to make the playoffs under coach Bill Belichick, and the second straight season they won’t be playing into late January.
