The line for the points total for Pats-Steelers is currently 30.5. I can't ever remember seeing one that low before, and the weird thing is that I'm SERIOUSLY considering hammering the under on that game.

Any news on who the Pats' starting QB is going to be? I was hoping to see Mitch Trubisky go against his doppleganger, Mac Trubisky.....

I think Mac is done for the year, mini Mac will start.

A multitude of issues.

Bill is tanking for a better pick. I have felt that way for a few weeks now. Hes just not being blatant about it, and has never done it before so hes masking it well.

Good thing the Celts and Bruins are worth watching!

I agree that they've been tanking since Miami. Up to then they were scrapping and competing. Managed to pull off the Buffalo win and went into that Miami game at 2-5 where if they won they'd have been 3-1 in the division and had a path to get back over .500. After losing that game, Bill absolutely packed it in and committed to the tank.

The next four games were against terrible teams. We scored a combined 30 points in that span and lost all four by a combined total of 16 points. Coaching is intentionally putting them in position to lose.

This team was a toe-tap away from knocking off the Eagles in week 1. They were a yard short of likely taking the Dolphins to OT in week 2. And those weeks we didn't even have a healthy line. How is the same team, and honestly the roster on offense is healthier now (up to Rhaemondre's injury last week), that was moving the ball on Philly unable to score against the shitty Giants and Chargers? It's a tank, I am 100% sure.

I'm sure the guys in the field are trying their hardest, but coaching is calling games intentionally to stifle the offense. While one would be tempted to think that Bill told Ryland to shank that FG against the Giants, that's no way, special teams guys wouldn't do that to their own resume and body of work on purpose, I think he just missed it.

That's why I'm not getting worked up over shitty offense in week 13 and 14, they're not trying, I'm not putting the offense under Zappe stalling against the Chargers as proof that BB or BoB have to go or anything. Though even at full strength and full effort, this offense is not good. Maybe they could've swung a 6-12 or 7-10 record if everything fell right. But I think everyone knows that being in that death spiral of mediocrity and drafting at 14th overall gets you nowhere and you have to crash and draft top 3 to get a franchise player and gamebreaker on offense.

Here's hoping tonight's game is the most horribly awful no-good game in NFL history., in which the Pats defense gives up zero points -- and the still lose.

I would love the Patriots to win this game because I really hate the Steelers, but I think they get shutout again unless they can score on defense or special teams.

One guy at my work said that he could see a 0-0 tie tonight. That would be game America deserves on TNF.

Anyone rooting for a Patriots win tonight is not a real fan

Last time I rooted for Pittsburgh their linebackers were Andy Russell, Jack Lambert, and Jack Ham. The greatest threesome in my mind in NFL history

23-7 Steelers

Just convince yourself like I did that they’re helping us and you’ll feel better

I don't believe this is serious. If this were to happen and Caleb Williams went back to USC like his camp has been dangling it's almost like they money in college is too good to pass up for these guys! If anyone has been following Charlie Baker's proposal I won't be surprised at all if college football and the NFL start to work more closely together than ever before.

It would be absolutely hilarious if both guys did go back to school and the Patriots are left with their shmenzer in their hands!

There are two records I'm thinking about and wondering whether they can achieve them:

1. Most time between scores - They're currently at 83 minutes

2. Most consecutive games with less than 10 points scored - currently at 3

The over/under tonight is 30.5. Last three Patriots games have had 37 points total and tonight is Bailey Zappe against Mitch Trubisky. There would be nowhere to bet if gambling on sports was easy but that feels like easy money.

Why would these guys go back for one year of payout where likely your stock can only go down as opposed to a longterm contract?
I would have said it's posturing for more money from team that drafts them but isn't everything slotted now? I am not sure what the end game is here. I think some of these guys also take out insurance policies in regard to potential future earnings? I don't know how that all works though.

I actually heard RJ Bell talk about this before that sometimes bad QB play can lead to more points than expected because of pick 6s/turnovers that set other teams up.
