I can almost guarantee if he is still here, Bill will not take MHJ. He famously thinks you can get he same wide receiver in round two or three as you can in the middle of round one. Wide receiver is considered the least important position by many old-school drafters. I don't agree, but the logic is there are a lot of 4.4 or 4.5fourty guys, some of whom can run routes.
Btw I have a very strong suspicion Bill is moving on.....
To be fair, Tyreek Hill was a 5th rd draft pick.

Glad the Chiefs lost. I know my Dolphins are smoke and mirrors and the Ravens, Chiefs and maybe even the Bills are better, but some losses help. This was one. There is a conspiracy theory around that the NFL wants an all Kelce Super Bowl, could be.

MHJ is probably the best athlete and can change an offense altogether. Plus him being a Patriot would make Colt fans angry which would very fun.

With a better line through free agency and possibly a coaching change, Mac might be salvageable, but if not you can bridge the gap with a FA like Cousins or Tannehill until the next franchise guy comes along.

Options might be better with drafting the QB in Drake May then signing a UFA WR like Evans.

There's a lot of things in play though and a long way to go until we can really make predictions. As much as I'm fed up with Mac Jones and would love to ship him out of town, it might be better roster management to stick with him and give him the elite WR in MHJ.
You can't come back next season with Mac as the starter. The team needs to move on and it's the quickest way to kill any hype for next season. As good as Harrison is as a prospect, you always take the qb if they are still on the board. When you're in a conference with Mahomes, Allen, Jackson, Burrow, Herbert, Stroud, Lawrence and Tua you need to take the chance on getting the next guy. If you pick 3rd and Harrison is still there you take him but anyone who would choose Harrison and Mac or a bridge qb instead of Williams or Maye should be fired.

Patriots need that top 3 pick, maybe only the Giants need it more but with three terrible qbs still on the schedule for them where 17 point should win them the game i can see the Patriots winning 2 or 3 games. DeVito played well last week but the previous 2 games averaged 130 yards and had 3 tds and 3 interceptions, if they can't beat the Patriots i don't see how they beat anyone else. Titans and Commanders only have one and two more wins and much harder schedules. I could see the Patriots picking 5th once week 18 is over.

Did anyone who watched the last half of that game think it was odd that they didn't mention the weather at all? Even after all the dropped balls. At least I didn't hear it and was waiting for them to bring it up as a factor.

Jim Irsay is such a tool. :banghead:

from nbcsports.com:

Colts owner Jim Irsay says his 2014 arrest for driving under the influence was a result of prejudice against him for being white and rich.

“I am prejudiced against because I’m a rich, white billionaire,” Irsay told Andrea Kremer on Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel. “If I’m just the average guy down the block, they’re not pulling me in, of course not.”

Asked by Kremer how he thinks it sounds for a white billionaire to claim that he’s a victim of prejudice, Irsay stood by his comment.

“I don’t care what it sounds like. It’s the truth,” Irsay said. “You know, Andrea, I could give a damn what people think how anything sounds or sounds like. The truth is the truth and I know the truth.”

Irsay pleaded guilty to operating a vehicle while intoxicated, a misdemeanor. Asked why he pleaded guilty if he had been profiled, Irsay said he just wanted to get it over with. Irsay claims that when he was asked to take a field sobriety test and looked unsteady walking, it was because he had just had hip surgery. He has admitted he had prescription painkillers and a sedative in his system at the time. He has not explained why, as a billionaire, he didn’t hire someone to drive him when he was unsteady after surgery.

You have to take the best player available at 5 if that’s the case. Too many unknowns at the moment. Does Chicago stick with Fields? I say no. Arizona with Kyler Murray? The Pats could end up with Alt or Fashanu.

If Arizona takes Williams or Maye (assume both off the board when Pats pick), would a trade for Kyler Murray work for the Pats? Coming out of the draft with Alt & Murray would be an improvement on this season.

Drafting a tackle early would be a mistake. They don't elevate your team as much as players at the top of the draft need to and the bust rate at the top of the draft is getting higher. Giants have drafted two tackles in the top 10 the last four drafts and have the worst offensive line in the league. In the last 5 drafts Sewell is really the only guy who has been as good as advertised that was drafted top 10 out of 8 tackles drafted with Cross and Thomas also being good. I think the line has improved as well, i know pff is just peoples opinions but since Week 6 when they started playing Sow as the RG and Onwenu as RT they have graded Sow as the best rookie lineman in the league and Onwenu as the 2nd best RT in the league.

Sow a 4th round pick, Onwenu a 6th round pick, Brown a 7th round pick and Andrews undrafted. O-line is like drafting pitching, draft enough of them and you'll get some players good enough for the majors. The worst player on that line when healthy is their 1st round guard who struggles in pass protection.

Williams, Maye, Harrison, Bowers and Nabers would be my top 5 for the Patriots

I haven't unmuted it once since the first half ended lol.
I love Dan Campbell but if they’d have bothered to punt more than once today, and kick a few field goals, they could have won this game.

On the other hand, as a Packer fan, I am thrilled with Jordan Love’s progress as this season has gone on. I’ve seen enough of him to be comfortable riding with #10 moving forward. He’s dedicated to getting better (like Jalen Hurts), is likeable, and his teammates got his back.

I’m sure the rest of the NFC North is thrilled.

I watched the whole game, Love was very impressive. From a neutral perspective I didn't really care who won but I was surprised how bad the Lions OL was.

Or maybe I don't know enough about the packers DL.

I disagree with you. Our OL is a total mess, picking Fashanu would fix it, although we would need to upgrade with at least one other lineman via trade / draft or FA signing. He is a generational type player.
