It's over. It's finally going to be over. Bill's finally going to get fired.

Kind of crazy to see how fast Patriots fans have turned on Bill Belichick. Fans have gone from "In Bill We Trust" to "I'll be happy when he's fired" lol. 6 Superbowls and nearly 2 decades of being one of the best teams in the NFL and Patriots fans turned on him in the middle of the first truly dumpster fire season.

Half of them turned on him when Brady walked out on us. The others slowly got fed up the way the last two years have gone.

Personally. I think I'm the last one left who would actually stick with Bill as coach. He blew a couple drafts, no doubt, but I'm completely writing off this year as a tank. They have cap space and they'll have a top 3 pick this year, I think he can still coach going forward with an improved roster (but yes, I'd still bring in a player personnel guy in the Pioli/Caserio mold to help him shop for groceries). This year is just a teardown year and I don't think it has bearing on his ability to coach in the NFL.

He's 71 years old and has done very little since refusing to make the proper commitment to Brady. This is professional sports and he has done a terrible job since then. He should have been fired after last season when he employed Matt Patricia and Joe Judge to run the offense. Look at last year's draft--a complete abomination. It might be different if Bill was just the coach. But he's not. He's the GM too. And if you want to fire just the GM he's not gonna stay on as coach. It's time for him to go.

Bill’s ego is too large to give up GM position and just focus on coaching. He would walk before accepting that change.

Last year was a dumpster fire as well. And most of us aren’t stupid. We’ve been watching this f***show for three and a half seasons and it’s not getting better.

In fact, you can throw in the 2019 season as well. Who knows how that season could have ended if the Patriots had a decent receiver besides Edelman.

Bill has outright refused to draft quality players and is always swinging at garbage pitches trying to hit a grand slam. The Patriots don’t need more special teamers, nickelbacks, or specialists. They need at least six or seven first-round talents to get this squad back to respectability, nevermind contention.

Bill’s draft record is poor. There have been some gems, but most are mediocre at best. Without Brady to pull his fat out of the fire, Belichick just can’t overcome the lack of talent he’s saddled himself with.

Its the time for him too because he can still go to Washington or Charlotte.

Should be a clean break and we should get a decent pick. I think the early 2nd round pick is just as important as the first bc Chicago NYG etc have the same needs as us. Just out tank them don't F around.

Fields, Jones, Murray need to win to keep their stock up and Carolina doesn't own their pick. #1 should be ours.

Just like 20 years was a long time in one place for the QB 25 years is way too long for the coach.

Hopefully we get a 3rd rounder or some kind of decent pick for him.

Gronk says Mac is not respected in NE and should ask for his release.

Last year they were 8-9 which is far from a dumpster fire. The offense (like this year) struggled and the defense kept them in games. Last year the offense ranked:

Passing Yards: 20th
Passing TD's: T-19th
Rushing Yards: 24th
Rushing TD's: T-22nd

They were a below average offense. Meanwhile on the defensive side (ranking from least to most):

Passing Yards: 17th
Passing TD's: 6th
Rushing Yards: 7th
Rushing TD's: T-1st

They had the 3rd most sacks and 4th most pressures in the NFL last season. They had a shot to make the playoffs if they win 1-2 more games, so again I'd hardly call it a dumpster fire.

This season (so far) that Patriots rank:

Passing Yards: 20th
Passing TD's: T-21st
Rushing Yards: 18th
Rushing TD's: T-22nd

They again are a below average offense. Meanwhile on the defensive side (ranking from least to most):

Passing Yards: 25th
Passing TD's: T-13th
Rushing Yards: 11th
Rushing TD's: T-18th

This year they have the 4th most sacks and tied for 18th in pressures. The defense took a big step back and part of the reason is because they are missing some impact players on that side of that ball.

As for Bill's drafting, he's never been a guy who does well drafting the skill positions. I'm not sure why people are suddenly surprised by his drafting. Just look at the players he's drafted that have gone on to have good to great NFL careers (aside from Brady)

Richard Seymour - DE
Matt Light - T
Deion Branch - WR
Jarvis Green - DE
Ty Warren - DE
Asante Samuel - DB
Dan Koppen - C
Tully Banta-Cain - LB
Vince Wilfork - DT
Ben Watson - TE
Logan Mankins - G
Jermy Mincey - DE
Brandon Meriweather - DB
Jerod Mayo - LB
Matthew Slater - ST/WR
Patrick Chung - DB
Darius Butler - DB
Sebastian Vollmer - T
Julian Edelman - WR
Devin McCourty - DB
Rob Gronkowski - TE
Brandon Spikes - LB
Nate Solder - T
Marcus Cannon - T
Stevan Ridley - RB
Chandler Jones - DE
Dont'a Hightower - LB
Jamie Collins - LB
Logan Ryan - DB
Duron Harmon - DB

That's just from 2000 to 2013, but you can clearly see a trend where he's great at finding defensive guys & o-line men, but struggles to find offensive guys in the draft.

Let also not act like it was all Brady either. The defenses that Bill built during the last 20 years have always been towards the top of the league when the dust settles. Without a strong defensive team, the Patriots don't come close to being as successful as they were.

What's his record as a head coach with Brady and without Brady?

So he's a great defensive coordinator, arguably the best all time.

Head coach? Average.
GM? Below average.

He's going to retire with the most losses of any head coach ever. Imagine doing that despite having the best qb ever and arguably the best oline coach ever for like 20 years, plus all that talent you highlighted above. And people call him the GOAT. It's comical to me. Take away Brady and he's rex ryan.....at best.

His first year with a loaded inherited team from Carroll was awful and we were pathetic prior to the Mo Lewis hit I was at that game.

He just has to come away from one of these drafts with a WR and things are different remember hes had f***ing 20 of them to pick decent receivers and just can't do it.

Still a great coach. Every week he was better than the guy on the other sideline for 20 years.

People keep saying stuff like this so I’ll ask, how many super bowls would Brady have if he wasn’t drafted to NE under Belichick?
