Lol. What does Montreal need to start winning? They have Caufield, Suzuki, and Slafkovski. Plus two more top five picks after that. They supposedly have all these great defensive prospects and young players too.

At a certain point you have to build around what you have or you end up in a cycle of losing.

Seems like Montreal has the talent, they just need to start playing better. A better goalie would do them wonders too.
for sure montreal has been let down by its goalies. They've both been terrible for the most part. That's not going to help the youngest D in the league. Dmen take time to develop. It'a vicious circle.
The three guys you mentioned plus Hutson have all been quite good most of the time, but Dach has yet to bounce back from his injury and Laine is injured so habs essentially have one offensive line. again.
Dvorak is terrible and will probably be available for a middling pick at the deadline Maybe a 3rd if habs retain.
Evans should be a flames target but i suspect there will be several teams in on him - if habs don't sign him.
He's Habs 2C right now which is all you need to know abut the lack of skill up front.
I'm curious to see what Hughes will want for him if they put him on the block.
Maybe high pick? habs already have 7 top 50 picks this summer - based on present standings.
Hughes again said last week that he won't make moves for short term gains, and with Laval cooking at 12-2 in the AHL, he's going to probably leave mailloux, Engstrom, Tuch, dobes, Beck, Roy all down there to keep dominating
