I understand what he's saying but...I'd still start Pivetta if needed

They found a good spot for Pivetta and it works. I wouldn’t mess with him. He’s been very effective in the pen. I would like Bloom to go out and get an arm. Someone who can solidify the rotation a bit. Like when Boston acquired Eovaldi. That type of acquisition.

This is just an odd season...............

The Wild Card is not a pipedream and we have a reason to watch.

The Sox would be at or near the top in most other divisions:

AL Central: 1st place ( 1 game ahead of Minnesota )
AL West: 2nd place ( 6 GB Texas )
NL Central: 2nd place ( 3 GB Cincinnati )
NL West: 2nd place ( 5 GB Arizona )

All those lost games to shitty teams early in the year are f***ing them.

Or are all the games won vs. Quality opponents early in the year saving them?

Who cares i don't follow into that too much the wild card is still the whole American league so they are where they are.

Rays have now lost 6 straight...

It's doable. We can get into the WC. We just have to beat the bad teams while still competing with the good ones. Health is a big deal too. Getting Story back will be huge.

Ive said it before the season started that I think we make the WC. I'm holding onto it.

It's a better viewing experience when you have something to root for.

They are going nowhere especially with their starting pitching and chief baseball scavenger, Chaim Bloom.
For what it's worth, as of this morning Baseball Reference has 2023 Red Sox starters at a combined 2.5 wins above average.

That's 10th in all of baseball. Ahead of teams such as the Dodgers, Orioles, D-Backs, Blue Jays, etc.

Sox broadcast team has been pushing for Verdugo for weeks to be an all-star. At this point I'd say Duran would have been the better choice to back. He now leads the team in average (.313), Slugging (.500), OPS (.861) and steals (16). Tied for the lead in doubles (26).

Absolute beast, I think some of the factors that would hold him back though are that he hasn’t been here the full season and doesn’t play vs LHP

Baseball America has Mayer/Bleis/Yorke/Anthony in their top 100

I am talking healthy starters, I should have been clearer.
They have three good, healthy starters right now.

And none of their injured starters are out for the season.

Say what you will about the Sox, but if they manage to get healthy and sneak into the playoffs, I'll take my chances with Paxton, Bello, and Chris Sale in a short series.

Brian Van Belle was promoted to and starting tonight for Worcester. He’s an interesting case. He’s 26 but has been really good at every level he’s been at. If he continues the next two months in Worcester I wouldn’t mind seeing him get a September shot.

The changeup is solid, everything else is fringy but he knows how to pitch. I could see him getting spot starts next year (or this year if they’re desperate)

Wow, they have three whole healthy starters, and one of them is the mediocre at best Kutter Crawford. Pennant fever, catch it.

If he just hits the ball where it’s pitched and uses speed he could have a 50 double 20 combo triple/home run and 40 SB

He’s the guy Jordan’s Furniture should be nervous about
