97 for me too. The Braves series, I remember it was the 1st interleague series in Fenway.

The Sox got plastered (15-2) and I know McGriff abused them that series.

Funny enough it kicked off a streak for me of always seeing Kevin Millwood start seeing a Braves game. 5 or so games over the next decade in Boston and Atlanta...always freaking Millwood on the mound.

Edit: not sure why my post spazzed out in italics

We lived in NH so while we could get to a game it was a trek to do so, so we'd only go once a year at most and usually on a school trip planned well in advance, and I swear there was a good 6 or 7 game streak where we got Wakefield every time. I didn't get to see Pedro until 2009 when he was a Phillie.

Not sure if it was my first game, but the first one I remember was probably 1977 or 78. An afternoon weekday game that my school went to.

Bleacher seats and George Scott hit a HR. I want to say they played Milwaukee.

Kluger with the win. HIs one scoreless inning was a key.

Only Sox starters without a hit, Devers and my boy Casas. Maybe he'll hit cleanup tonight.

How bad was that home plate umpire?

Casas looks like he is back to struggling again, but you cannot deny he had a solid May. And when they temporarily moved him up in the lineup (due to injury to others) he was downright hot the previous handful of games. I know he’s your self proclaimed whipping boy though so you simply refused to acknowledge it. Weird that you have to target a kid adjusting to the bigs or even feel the need to have a whipping boy but whatever.

Umpire was god awful, so inconsistent

I don't need to have a whipping boy.

But he makes it so easy.

This would be big for Casas. And he strikes out lol. Still 2-3. Really needed that run. Reyes 0-3. He gave them a lot in a short stint and helped out when they were hurting. Give him that but it’ll be good to get Chang and Arroyo back. Also very excited for Duvall.

Bernardino and Sherriff are so far being what you had hoped Joely and Bleier could be.
Relievers! Throw em at the wall and see what sticks!

I’ll take the double and 2 out rbi triple. He needed this game badly

Definitely. Just walked. Definitely step in the right direction. I got nervous though. 3-0 and the pitcher throws him a meatball BP pitch and he takes. Then takes a 2nd strike.

Reyes next at bay got a hit but Kiké grounds out. Think Jansen on again. Not sure I agree. i missed game 1 but i don’t know how I feel using him literally hours later. Especially in this weather.

Yup. Looking like a great call, Cora.

Sox put up 6 runs in one inning, 4 runs in the other 17. One of those runs scored on a dropped pop up. Missed a great chance for the rare DH sweep, against best team in the league.

With Fred Lynn in the building, Casas brings back memories of Freddy using the monster to his advantage.

Crawford gave them 3 good innings in game 2.

Felt bad for Garza. Really got squeezed by home plate umpire in his 2nd inning.

Not liking Duran's trending strikeout rate. Seems to be pulling off those outside corner pitches, can't reach them.

Duran has been pretty bad his last 30 games. He’s hitting .222 with 37 K’s, 8 BB. He has a .288 OBP.

The sample size for the last 15 games is even worse. He’s batting .175 and has a .217 OBP. He’s been tits on a bill at the plate.

Thank God that Duvall is returning soon. Still need Duran to climb out of this though.

Probably the most important slump of his MLB career. How he reacts and will tell us a lot.

His overall numbers are still very good. Hopefully he can level back out.

We are looking at an all-timer from this plate umpire, you got the booth and the dugout complaining and it’s not even the 3rd
