Most of them probably exist in his head. It's not like the Sox thread on this board is crowded, but I don't see many who only post here when they are miserable.

The proof is in the pudding. There’s about 4-5 posters who only show up here to bitch about the team, Bloom, ownership and anything else when they’re losing.

Winning? Quiet as a church mouse.

Well you see they aren’t actually fans it turns out. They only want to be miserable. When the team plays well it eats at their soul. They’ll be back next time they lose a series or drop below .500

You’ll see us here talking about the good and the bad. That’s because we ARE fans. We don’t root against a baseball team so we can be right online.

Red Sox followers!

Amazing that a team with their starting pitching can be 18-14.

Devers now has the worst OBP on the team (.279).

Duran now has 10 doubles in 61 plate appearances. His arm from CF may be the worst since Johnny Damon, though.

Casas still leads the team in walks (17) and strikeouts (29). More runs scored (15) than hits (13).

Brasier brought his ERA down to under 8 with his dazzling performance last night.

this play seems to be getting mixed reaction

He's lucky that Brian McCann wasn't running to 1B.

I don't mind the play, I actually like it. Baseball needs more of that. People love it when NBA-players are showboating. And in addition to that, Franco is such a great all around player. If I didn't know that our SS-position was gonna be occupied by a similarly great player in Mayer, I'd want him on the Red Sox.

In other news: I was pretty shocked to see that Duran is already up to a 1.2 fWAR. And it's not only because of the bat, even the defensive metrics like him, which probably nobody saw coming.
Great to have options on the team, but I think it's at least a possibility that Bloom uses him as a trade chip come deadline. We have Duval as the regular CF and the other 2 OF are LHH just like Duran.

I would hate for Duran to breakout and then they trade him. Duvall is a stop gap anyway. Duran has long term potential at the position if he settles into a player who hits .270-.280 with speed, pop and doesn’t hurt you in the OF.

Hell baby
Franco got the mlb logo tattooed on his neck when he was 17, that play was nothing when it comes to his cockiness. I personally love it and wish he was on another team in another division!

In the past, I've been as hard on Duran as anyone could possibly be, but I'll give him full credit for the work he's apparently put in during the off season.

He's obviously not going to hit .400 for much longer -- and probably won't be a career .300 hitter, but with his speed, even if he's at .270 he can be an asset in the bottom 1/3 of the lineup, especially if he continues to work on his defense.
I had written him off after the Tapia inside the park homer. He is proving me very wrong

He obviously wouldn't be given away. Teams would have to buy high on him. But they also have Rafaela in the wings (who is a ++ defensicvely in CF). Verdugo may be extended and is doing fine in RF. Where does that leave room for Duran?

They shouldn't trade a player just because a rookie is waiting in the wings or for a journeyman like Duval, but again, they are not supposed to give him away, they'd get something not insignificant in return. I wouldn't mind another arm. For the sake of naming someone: Shane Bieber, free agent in 2025. Wouldn't be a rental. Maybe some arm from the Marlins with less team control.

Excellent post as always, friend. If you can only talk about the bad, you ain’t a fan.

Nothing worse than sports followers who want to be right over team success. Quite nauseating.

I did this in high school, and got benched for 2 games.

JRull86 had that dawg in him.

i watched the celtics and bruins this week if thats ok, but these self righteous lectures on fandom are funny. Yankees are in last now, are their fans not fans for being critical of the front office or must everyone be pom pom waving

There is a difference between being critical and just bitching. I actually wasn’t even thinking of you here, but I feel you’re low-key telling on yourself, since you thought I was referring to you.
