As far as the Oakland to Vegas relocation goes, I feel sorry for the Oakland fans, and I wonder if rural Vegas has enough population to support a franchise once the novelty is gone. I do not think they will draw from surrounding states either. However, the Knights have done it so a baseball team should be able to in theory. ....
Las Vegas as a sports market is unique from every other market. They dont operate under the normal factors, but the Vegas Metro has 2.25 million people and is rapidly growing.
Beyond that, the unique drivers of attendance will always be there.
1. Casinos - like with the Knights and Raiders, expect a healthy amount of suites and season tickets to be bought by the casinos for use as comps
2. Tourists - 40 million people visited Las Vegas in 2022. If only 1% see a game, that is 5,000 per home game
3. Tourism - Like with the Raiders and Knights you will see a steady stream of additional people traveling to Las Vegas to watch their favorite team play the A's. In addition there will be complete travel packages offered.
