Hell baby
Sox have won 4/6 series so far
4/5!*

*lost exhibition series at the Trop

Pirates have been playing some good baseball too so that series doesn’t look as bad as it did previously. McCutchen found a time machine, Reynolds is a stud, and the rest of the players simply play clean baseball and have gotten timely hits so far. They’ll still probably lose 80 but they’re a competitive team- they certainly aren’t Detroit or Oakland

or the Red Sox, who are only slightly above that sad level. It's them and the Rockies I would say.

The Sox had an encouraging day today. Yoshida finally looked like a competent major league hitter, they got a good outing from Houck who is developing a splitter, and even Duran is hitting the ball well.

Do you have a preference, Usinger’s or Klement’s?
I love ‘em both. Johnsonville’s too. The Brat Stop along I-94 between Milwaukee & Chicago have their brats made by Usinger’s with their own custom recipe. Those are my favorites. They sell them uncooked at their butcher counter in the back and I always load up on those, and New Glarus beer, whenever I go north.

Got a tough one coming up in Milwaukee, though. I'm a Brewer fan and I'll be at the game tomorrow night.

Gonna tame The Beast.....and wash it down with a couple of Leinies

Heavenly stuff. I really want to do a trip out to Milwaukee for a Sox game. Glad the new schedule allows for it every season.

Be sure to look me up when you come out. I grew up there and I’ll make it worthwhile. If the Sox come out in the fall, you can work in a Packer game as well if the schedules synch up.

Packer fan or not, that’s a Sports Fan Bucket List venue. Kinda like the Bell Center in Montreal…A Hawks game in Chicago, is another one. If only, for the National Anthem…

IMHO Vegas is really risky for MLB.

The core TV market would be the smallest of the 30 teams and as the Golden Knights discovered it is difficult to build an RSN there. VGK is looking for a new TV partner as AT&T Sportsnet Rocky Mountain is closing.

Sacramento on paper is their best option as they could keep their existing RSN partner NBC Sports California and it is only 80 miles away from the Coliseum.

i just read a blog/article that "Bloom could be in trouble," and Sabean is someone they are considering to replace him. Sign me up. He did a good job building those mid-market Giant teams and being from New Hampshire does not hurt.

As far as the Oakland to Vegas relocation goes, I feel sorry for the Oakland fans, and I wonder if rural Vegas has enough population to support a franchise once the novelty is gone. I do not think they will draw from surrounding states either. However, the Knights have done it so a baseball team should be able to in theory. ....

Las Vegas as a sports market is unique from every other market. They dont operate under the normal factors, but the Vegas Metro has 2.25 million people and is rapidly growing.

Beyond that, the unique drivers of attendance will always be there.

1. Casinos - like with the Knights and Raiders, expect a healthy amount of suites and season tickets to be bought by the casinos for use as comps
2. Tourists - 40 million people visited Las Vegas in 2022. If only 1% see a game, that is 5,000 per home game
3. Tourism - Like with the Raiders and Knights you will see a steady stream of additional people traveling to Las Vegas to watch their favorite team play the A's. In addition there will be complete travel packages offered.

I like all three, but I'm partial to Usinger's. I marinate my raw brats in Spotted Cow or Summer Shandy before throwing them on the grill. The New Glarus Brewery tour is worth the time, although Leinie's tour is much better if you find yourself up in Chippewa Falls.

100% agree with everything you posted, however I don't like using good beer for cooking my brats. I like to keep those for drinking. I always have some PBR handy for cooking, or if I'm cutting the lawn and just want something cold and light.

Toured both breweries many times, and Chippewa Falls is by far the best one. New Glarus is in the middle of nowhere, and the town itself is pretty non-descript (I'm being kind).
