there was no controversy. Zappe isn’t an NFL caliber qb. He was playing all preseason against stiffs that will be working in the lumber yard next week and he couldn’t complete a pass.

I think Jones is better at many more things, but among a certain group in the Patriots' fan base-if not the coaching staff there certainly was controversy.

I just have a simple philosophy. I don't like my QB playing like a meat head and then being pissy on top of it.

The backup quarterback is always the most popular guy in Foxboro. We got a 20 year break with Brady but Mac/Zappe is the same as Bledsoe/Bishop as Bledsoe/Davey as Millen/Secues as Eason/Grogan and Eason/Flutie. It’s a national pastime for some always screaming for the backup.

A bad day only in that Mac Jones is the only QB on the roster. A truly terrifying thought.

The offense will suck no question but not because of BOB, but due to the GM doing a shit job of adding decent NFL caliber offensive players. The offensive line and WR corps are brutally awful. Glaringly bad.

I believe Rhamondre Stevenson and Ezekiel Elliott are the only RBs on the roster at the moment.

But as a group:

JuJu, Parker, Bourne
Henry, Gesicki
Stevenson, Zeke

Assuming health, and better OLine play, that's most likely a top 10 offense.
