Beautiful long weekend to kick of summer.

No more perfect time for the Celtics to ruin the whole thing for all the gullible dreamers out there.
My money would be on the Heat tonight. I just have no faith this Celtics team can put things together for 4 straight games. Hell they couldn't even sweep the Hawks.

As we go into game 6 in Miami, there are rumors about Brown wanting to go with Atlanta. He is from there, a high school star. After the Celtics beat the Hawks, Jaylen started to follow some Atlanta Hawks players on social media. I felt something might happen with Brown in the off-season after game 3.

0.0% chance that Brown turns down the supermax.
A sign and trade deal is always a possibility. And regardless of what happens today I don't see Brown back with the Celtics next season. :dunno:

We had several streaks of 4 or more wins during the year, including a couple of 9 game win streaks.

Regular season obviously, but still notable imo.

We shall see. He doesn't like it in Boston. Money isn't everything. Always being in the wing position of the JT-JB combo must be upsetting to him. His body language says he doesn't like the negativity in the press that he gets and he feels he deserves more sttention. He has a great night balling and JT has a bad night, yet all the discussion is about Tatum. I just feel he is gone, leaves on his own or gets traded. Just my opinion.

BTW, I am hoping for a game 7. Go Celtics

One of the NBA Supermax contract rules is that teams aren't allowed to trade a player the year after his contract signing.

Unless we don't offer him it, (dumb), or he refuses it, (0.0% chance), he's here next year.

You are exactly correct, but no player has ever turned down a supermax extension.

He doesn't have to love it here, or even look at it that way, and I'd bet he doesn't. This is his job. He's involved in the players association. By the rules of the CBA he's now earned this payday.

This enormous payday. (The Celtics will have the ability to offer Brown a five-year contract worth up to $295 million, which would be one of the biggest contracts in league history).

My disdain for Thomas is still there.

I’m reading Michael Holley’s newest book, The Big Three about Pierce, KG and Ray Allen. So far, it is very good and I’m on chapter 4.

Wyc walked into Paul Gaston’s office in NYC and offered $360 million to buy the not for sale Celtics.

It goes into how they built the organization we have today.

It talks about Pierce’s stabbing in depth. So lucky he didn’t die.
I'll have to look for that book. Wyc has the lowest profile of the big four owners in town, I'd love to learn more about him and his background, as well as the maneuvering Danny did to put the big 3 together.

Yup - you are correct. For some reason I thought that part had been amended but it has not. Personally I'm tired of Brown and his "nobody likes me or really understands me " attitude so ( depending of the return ) I hope he is dealt away ASAP.

You certainly get that in this book. I'm at the point of the book where Ray and KG have been acquired. Without the Allen deal we don't get KG.

I still want to know how Red got Danny out of his Blue Jays contract b/c Danny lost his court case.

Don't feel good about this, think the season ends tonight. Miami will be desperate to not go back on the road for Game 7 to play a team that have only lost once in the Tatum era in game 7s and that was to LeBron and the wins on homecourt were all big. Also expect Butler to step up, did this in the series last season where he faded in the middle but started and finished it strong
