Hopefully he looks better than he did last year,he did pick up his game for the playoffs, but most of the regular season he definitely wasn’t the same player,he seemed to get worse as the season went on.
Think the hip surgeries are the things to worry about the most this season with Brad. Typical those can have an impact on performance

You can’t really believe this team is going to put up 105 points…you keep saying best d group and goaltending in the league…. You’re reaching with best d core… also you keep acting like losing the forwards that we did won’t impact the d and goaltending.
Do you know how much easier it’s going to be for teams to matchup against the bruins top six and plan around it without bergy and Krejci? This team is going to be in big trouble as they will be spending a lot more time in the d zone and praying the goaltending is outstanding.
Yeah I can’t see how career third liners and one year dealers are going to replace Bergeron, Krejci, Hall and Bertuzzi’s production. You still need to score goals to win. Possible they could surprise a bit, but hardly likely, especially when they will be focused on players now. I got them fighting for wildcard spot.

Keep JVR and Coyle away from eachother and spread Marchand and Pasta over two lines until the last minutes when you are down a goal. I also think that Lucic and Frederic could be a great checking line. What I would like to see:

JVR - Zacha - Pasta
Marchand - Geekie - DeBrusk
Boqvist - Coyle - x
Lucic - Frederic - Brown
extra: Lauko, Greer

x = would love to sign a veteran player like Tatar for this line. If healthy I wouldn't be against signing Patrick Kane

Good stuff

But

I need to see if Merkulov can keep up and how his size as a center work

Geekie at center is important - If he can handle it and he has all the check marks in size, experience, skating they are set

You did a very astute thing here

You have Zacha & Pastrnak as first line and drop DeBrusk - Coyle - Marchand to second

That’s how I see it

This Coyle 1 center is ridiculous panic

Guy had nearly 50 points with a 74.4 defensive zone start lol

They also may go with Frederic at center and can move Geekie to wing if JVR lags

Lot of moving parts

Training Camp should be quite fun next month
Geekie will be taking the face offs i would guess. I think he signed here because the
Top 6 needs a centre or two. He can take face offs and he has some upside. He also
Hits a bit.

He looked good last year I thought. Especially late in the season. And I really liked how he played in the playoffs. I don’t think we have to worry. He may score a few less goals. But his. over all 200 foot game is elite imo.

Bertuzzi only played like 15 games for them. Why even include him?

We all knew that Bergeron and Krecji were not going to be around for ever , I also thought that although productive that near the end of the season they started to show that time was catching up with them ............The Hall deal is still pissing me off and I think it is going to come back and bite them............

With Sweeney good fortune Geekie probably hits as a 45-60 point valuable top 9

I went back and Seattle had a good spread from Canes but wanted this guy

Because of Islanders & Columbus dumping forwards good ones to shed salary the Geekie development got messed up

I would love for Geekie to grab second line center and see the Bruins roll out
Zacha
Geekie
Coyle

And roll along

I don't love JVR on the 1st line either but you gotta work with what you have

So what are you doing?

Coyle #2C
Geekie #3C

A 9 goal 4C, being put between elite and very good winger in the top 6? That's a hard pass the first 20 games of the season. This team won't need more adjustments
than JVR in the top 6. Coyle has familiarity with #63\74, Geekie has none.

How about getting basic facts straight? He played 21 RS games and had 16 points in them. That damn close to .8PPG.

With Bertuzzi, Orlov, and Hathaway they went 15-1 down the stretch. Can we can this crap about the deadline additions not adding to the record?

Why are you coming in this hot over an obvious generalization that wasn't even that far off?

Providence has about 6 dudes that could come up and contribute this year/stick this year. Donny might be weaseling his way into recouping some draft capital by the deadline this year :

(in no order)
Beecher
Lysell
Lohrei
Steen
McLaughlin
Toporowski

a year or so off:
Kuntar
Farinacci (obviously too early to tell)
Mast
Harrison
--------
Brunet
Poitras

Could make players like JVR, Shattenkirk, Forbort, Gryz, Zboril, and maybe even Coyle dealable this year. Talking myself into a fun growth year with a bunch of new names.

We got no centre depth, it's time to think way outside the box.

Ladies and gents, allow me to introduce the all-3rd lines Centennial Bruins!:

Freddy - Geekie - Pasta
Marchand - Brown - Boqvist
Lucic - Zacha - Debrusk
JVR - Coyle - Lauko

I need more coffee.
Replace Brown with one of our prospects and I think it's the best idea I've seen proposed around here.

I know you're joking. I'm not.

Lauko -- Zacha -- Pasta

Marchand -- Geekie -- Debrusk

Boqvist -- Coyle -- JVR

Lucic -- Frederic -- Brown

is my idea with how to do the forwards.
