Zacha and Pasta shouldn't be separated
Marchy needs to stay with DeBrusk
Freddy needs to stay with Coyle
Milan needs to play 4th line

JVR-Zacha- Pasta
Marchy-Geekie-DeBrusk
Freddy-Coyle Lauko
Lucic-Brown-Boqvist

And then pray to the heavens that someone in Prov can step up.
Forwards look weak D and goaltending probably the best in the league though with a egg head of a coach. Lets go!

I really don't think they roll into the season with a Zacha - Geekie 1/2 punch

I switch Lauko and JVR, make a Czech line lite

Also I think the speed and style Coyle and Freddie play would suit JVR better

After December last year I was bored watching Bruins games until the playoffs started . They were going to finish first in the division, it was all that mattered at the time . I just want them to make the playoffs this year and then roll the dice . The games will be more exciting this year because they will mean more .

Only the 1970-71 Bruins RS topped last season for me. Ended same way unfortunately.

That's a border line DNQ group of forwards deployed like that.

All of this center depth nonsense goes away, as soon as Jackie 'The Brain' Farinacci takes over at 2C and looks like Beniers without the skating, right off the bat.

Slainte

Lol, Beniers w\o the skating is an AHL player.

He became a free agent yesterday since he wasn't signed.
Farinacci won't sign with the Coyotes, instead opting to become a free agent this summer, Darren Dreger of TSN reports.

Farinacci had 20 points in 19 games with Harvard this season, and he posted 61 points over 79 contests during his collegiate career. The center was a third-round pick in 2019. His offense didn't exactly stand out, so he may begin his professional career in the AHL.

the truth is they will go into camp with a lot of competition for the open spots (many) ..best chemistry/guys will win opening roster jobs, Monty will juggle the lines like a world class street busker juggles flaming axes, first slump with any of the guys who won the open spots will lead to them being swapped for the next up, Monty will juggle lines again ..rinse repeat ...even if consistency is found Monty will likely keep juggling but hopefully not...one thing for certain Sway and Linus will face more high danger chances this year ... Bruins fate is mainly in their hands
This!

Trying to predict the lines is a waste. Tons of competition going on. Probably only one line you can predict and even that will change as their team rolls. This year, we will see what Monty is made of.

Also might be so far out if a playoff spot with Coyle as a top 2 center and Grzcelyk in your top 4 D that making a late season add won't matter.

Goaltending, top 5 but will take a hit without Bergeron.

Defense, solid, Lindholm and Charlie are way above average, Carlo is solid, the rest are meh. Need at least one physical D.

Centers, nice depth but no real number 1, a good number two who has great chemistry with Pasta and a number 3 who is an offensive black hole. No help coming from Providence. Not many teams succeed with a top 2 center who only gets 40 points.

Wings are a great combination of skill, size, experience and youth and may help make up for the centers.

92 to 98 points and fighting for a wild card.
They have best G and D in league and top four wingers are right there

They have two good not great 200 foot centers who treated Florida like their bitch games 3 and 4 before Monty kid did lineup and lines game 5

They are good enough to be in playoffs today

I have them 98 but I historically come in low

I expect 105 or above

I would like Sweens to not go all in till trade deadline and see if we get a surprise or two

My 5 top TC I will be watching

Geekie
Jvr
Poitras
Waksh
Mitchell

Anyone want to make a lot of money take over on Bruins at 96 or 97

Like stealing

Also I’d go for Hanifin over any center now

He’s 26 and would give the Bruins top 4 D the equivalent of the Money Ball A’s pitching staff - Hudson, Mulder, Zito

Any weakness the Bruins have would be covered up by

Hanifin- McAvoy
Lindholm- Carlo

Ullmark
Swayman

Offense starts friom good defense

Bruins would be outstanding on their 100 foot side of Ice

@EverettMike did you see Money Ball? And notice they forgot to mention in the movie the Oakland A’s had the best rotation in the game

I also don't really expect Sweeney to do anything. The cap is going up, Grizz is coming off and you can move Ullmark for another 5m in space. You can add a top line free agent center next year along with another top 3 D and top 6 wing. Lohrei should be ready and you should be contenders again.

Or Sweeney signs Matt Belesky and blows all his cap space on analytic gems and we sink to obscurity.
Sweeney gets Hall, Nash, Ullmark, Orlov, Bertuzzi, and Lindholm and we are cowering over Matt Belesky fear lol

Worried about or even bringing up or thinking about Matt Belesky is like dwelling over a little league at bat from 1974

I see two spot wide open at training camp. 1LW and 4C. Merkulov and Poitras could surprise and maybe Zacha slides to LW and they play C but I doubt that, better to keep Zacha in the middle. Line 2 will be fine, I think Coyle can put up 60 points with those wingers and some PP2 time. 3rd line scares the shit out of me but I just hope all this Geekie talk I read on here comes to fruition. Would love Freddy to pot 20 this season. 4th line I think will be fine. Would like to see Beacher win a spot out of camp and jump to the show but I'm not completely convinced.

*My 5 top TC I will be watching

Center competition - Geekie/Richard/Boqvist/Merkulov
JVR - could surprise (one of the best to score/pass in tight)
Walsh
Mitchell
Bussi

Binky - Topo

Thinking *this would make a good Thread.
Forgot about Merkulov - seeing Belesky name through me off

I hadn’t thought about him in years

I expect center to be resolved at some point but still want to see Poitras Merkulov and Geekie try and crack the top 3 centers

Merkulov has hands, brain, shot for top 6- going to be pace and his size

Poitras I don’t see him making it this camp but he attacks and I would expect plays well in NHL

Geekie I like but can he come close to Zacha - if so the Bruins are in good spot

If I’m GM I’m laughing at these Carlo, DeBrusk, Swayman packages

Hysterical

Wait a year they could be free agents

Sweeney can’t get answers till a good sample size of 2 months

It may be in their hands but waivers may have a say in who stays and who goes

Good stuff

But

I need to see if Merkulov can keep up and how his size as a center work

Geekie at center is important - If he can handle it and he has all the check marks in size, experience, skating they are set

You did a very astute thing here

You have Zacha & Pastrnak as first line and drop DeBrusk - Coyle - Marchand to second

That’s how I see it

This Coyle 1 center is ridiculous panic

Guy had nearly 50 points with a 74.4 defensive zone start lol

They also may go with Frederic at center and can move Geekie to wing if JVR lags

Lot of moving parts

Training Camp should be quite fun next month
