We should all come to terms with the fact that reavo could totally spank Milan, lol

But the bigger benefit from an overall hockey perspective is teams bringing in legit tough guys again, hopefully it trends

I dunno bro - not saying it wouldn’t be close or looch couldn’t beat him, but if they face each other a few times reavo will take a couple - he punches like quaider and Joey Kocur, like he’s trying to punch through a guys head - looch hasn’t fared well (at times) with the heavy punchers

None of the players that were allegedly involved in the situation were tendered by their teams. That is pretty telling and the Bruins must steer clear of all of them.

Stop acting like an apologist for these boys. What they allegedly did is much worse that what Mitchell Miller did which is already heinous.

I’m really tired of people giving athletes a pass when it comes to alleged SA.

There are no names yet identified, the report hasnt been made public. People today are so quick to condem before having any info and simply just form their own opinion.

I'm not giving anyone a pass, I'm just not grabbing my pitchfork like the mob mentality that most have today.

Good breakdown from Anthony:

I think it has much more to do with the terrible asset management by Sweeney than where they actually drafted. Having to give up extra capital to move backes, Moore and beleskey, missing on Rick Nash.

Of course there are draft misses like Beecher, zboril and senyshyn.

On top of that like Anthony said there were only a few other available players each draft, but those do end up adding up and the bruins seemed to miss just about every time.

They need lorhei and lysell to be solid players for sure or else it gets very ugly because then we are looking at nothing from the draft pool for a few more years.

Bottom line a big reason they have been in cap trouble is that since 2017, swayman is the only nhl regular. No matter how you slice it that’s not a good formula.

6 years worth of drafts without an NHL regular forward or defender is about as bad as it gets.

Swayman is the saving grace in this.

Question: can a team run an active roster with just 21 or even 20 players (e.g. no extra forwards or defense)? That $1.5m in cap savings could be necessary to start the season.

He could, but they’ve never fought. I definitely like Lucic’s chances. Those two are definitely the two top dogs in the NHL.

Sweeney and at least a couple scouts are obsessed with him. When he is on he is a pretty good all around d but seems a little lacking in quickness and therefore one-on-one skills to me. He is like a young Hamonic or Boychuk with much less physicality. I don't get it myself.
Hanifin is nothing like Boychuck or Hamonic. In fact he is a 6:02 Gryz for physicality
but lots more offense.

You are on to something , the Bruins prospects just never seem to come up and make any kind of splash or impression . To be honest I am tired of waiting for them , question is was it Sweeneys drafting or the development process they have in place . I no everyone wants Lysell up on the big club but I don't think skill level aside he is physically he is ready , and I would be afraid to move him to sweeten a deal that makes this team better and maybe move some some cap. Beecher I have always believed he would be a player , but I think the time has come step up this or move him , he has the tools ,size ,speed but............ Loerhi , has not had the chance yet so there is hope there ..............

Problem with Bs prospects is this. It is not the prospect, it is the coaching. They draft players and then try to change them instead of building on what the player already brings.

You said yourself, they only have about a million plus per player. They need what you mention except for the 4th line enforcer winger, but just do not have the money for it.

Btw, I have already said this, but I would avoid another enforcer and Sprong like the plague. I also have very little use for Wood. Max Pac is an intriguing outside possibility that I had not considered.
They can sign as many $1m players as they want, it just comes at the cost of not having a rookie in the lineup. So you can have Merkulov at $900k in the top6 or Wheeler at $1m + bonuses. You can have McLaughlin on the 3rd line at $900k or you can sign Comtois for $1m.

Right now, the third and fourth lines both have 2 rookies on them. I can’t see them doing that.

Marchand - Coyle - $1m
DeBrusk - Zacha . Pastrnak
$1m - Frederic - $1m
Lucic - $1m - $1m

Thats 5 spots for rookies OR bargain bin UFA’s.

They do t make a splash because they change their game too much. Bergeron syndrome.
