I’m pretty happy with the low risk signings we’ve made. Only signing in really not a fan of is Shattenkirk.
I mean, with Shatt, he's gonna be in a competition with Mitchell, Regula, Walsh, and Zboril for the 6RD spot. His cap hit can be entirely buried in the minors if he can't hang with this team. Best case he works out and is a help on the PP without being too big of a liability 5v5, worst case we waive him and move on. Team had no problem sending Stralman down to the minors last year, I don't see why they wouldn't do the same with Shatt.

And Shattenkirk should be light years ahead of Stralman. 😀

Both. There wasn't a single player in two years that "fit" well with Forbort.

Clifton was the best option that kept him on the third pair and allowed both of them to play their preferential sides.

The PK in the regular season was actually just as good without him and at worst the same as when he wasn't injured.
Forbort and Clifton...again I remind you the bruins D downright dominated the league...this included Forbort.

Why overly concerned with Forbort partner? The dude was a PK beast.

I guess these low price guys don’t hurt but if we are going to be a mid tier team I almost rather just throw our top kids in the mix. We might lose a few more games but it would be far more entertaining to watch.

Merkulov-Zacha-Pastrnak
Marchand-Bergeron-Poitras
Debrusk-Coyle-Lysell
Lucic-Frederic-Geekie
Lauko

Lindholm-McAvoy
Lohrei-Carlo
Forbort-Gryz

I like Freddy and hope he signs a 1 year "prove it" type deal knowing more money is coming in. He seemed to be developing a puck possession type game late in the season that looked good. He was getting open more for shots - just needs to work on his accuracy and stop missing empty nets.
Yes. I like Freddy too. Just the fact that he gets chances to score is encouraging. If he can break through and start finishing some of them, he’ll be a solid player. I feel like this year will be big for him.

I look at this competition for spots as a great thing, ultimately. I might be in the minority here, but i'm feeling like we will be pleasantly surprised with how things pan out this year.

No, i'm not getting duck boats ready...yet..lol. Whoever is on this team will have something to prove with a million chips on their shoulders imo.

I get kind of a MoJo feeling with Boqvist. Johansson was a great fit for Coyle in ‘19, and Bowvist has that puck carrying ability that Mojo and Hall shared.

March - Bergy - DeBrusk
JVR - Zacha - Pastrnak
Boqvist - Coyle - Geekie
Lucic - Brown - Lauko

I really like the Grzelcyk/SJ/Hanifin three way deal @Mr. Make-Believe proposed too…

Hanifin - McAvoy
Lindholm - Carlo
Lohrei - Shattenkirk

Swayman - Ullmark

People may not like it, but this appears to be the likely group coming out of camp:

Marchand - Zacha - Pasta

JVR - Coyle - Debrusk

Lucic - Geekie - Boqvist

Lauko - Frederic (RFA) - Brown

Ex F: Greer

Gryz - McAvoy

Lindholm - Carlo

Forbort - Shattenkirk

Ex LD: Zboril

Ex RD: Ian Mitchell

Ullmark

Swayman (RFA)

5.4 million left to sign Frederic and Swayman plus have a small buffer for player movement.

If Bergeron returns, someone near the bottom of the roster will have to go to make roster space. My pick to go is Zboril. Bruins have plenty of left-shot defensive depth in Providence (Wotherspoon, Renouf, Lohrei) and Zboril could use a fresh start.

This looks good...I like

I know zero about Brown but guessing he's the best option 4th line center due to his F/O and PK ability???
