Why does Bunting have a meeting with DPS, but trouba didn’t last year?

It’s ironic that Bunting has a meeting with
DPS over something not particularly egregious yet he embellishes all the time and doesn’t get called for it.

Trouba, on the other hand has been throwing elbows for years. If they’re not going to throw the book at him for injuring Crosby, then there’s no hope for any punishment. I had plenty of video to choose from regarding cheap shots from Trouba, but this one really stands out for me. Interestingly, he didn’t even connect on it, but it was dirty as f***.

Are you Kidding? Tavares running up a 55 million dollar tab over five years and not winning a single playoff series? That would be funny for a lifetime.
Agree, but Toronto won game 1 vs TB last year, 5-0, and lost the series. It's only one game. TB needs to win 4 and is now down 2 defensemen. It's way too early for victory laps. In fact, 6 of 8 higher seeds/home teams lost game 1.

Personally, I think it’s worse for TML because the pressure of being 0-13 in series clinching games has to be in this core’s fragile heads.

They lose tomorrow and i can’t imagine that group being able to mentally come back from it, they’re just too soft and have a culture of PO losing In their souls… they’ll be all “here we go again…”

If they can't rally and get back in this series they are going to have to blow it up. I still think they will make it.

If the Rags and TB lost you’d be saying the same thing.
By 4 goals as well? Maybe. If it helped me prove the point that it's too early to be making pronouncements based on one game. (Except, I picked NYR and TBL to win the series)

The way I see it, the Isles lost one game. For now I'll enjoy the playoffs and save the post-mortems for the offseason.

When two high-skill teams meet in the playoffs, one of them is going to lose.:teach2:

That's how it should be done. Even if we think we know, wait until it's all over.

Right, but I wouldn't be one of the posters trying to make a single game result fit a narrative. That was the point of my post.

But it would be right to point out that the things that stymied a team in the regular season carried over into Game 1 of the playoffs.

Have they won series against more "skilled" teams in the past? [I know... Trotz... but that's coaching, not skill] If they win tonight, did they get more skilled? Holiday Inn Express? ;)

Yes and frankly those were miraculous. So start praying for Tristan Jarry and Matt Murray to become the Hurricanes goalies.
