We really need to make sure we're in the top 5. It's insane how productive some of these guys are at the top. Any one of them would have went first last year. Carlsson has already tied Slaf's production in a stronger league a month into the season. Bedard, Mitchkov, Carlson, Fantilli, Dvorsky. This is the draft to tank for.

If we do draft top 5 and land one of the Centers...

How do we handle our C position in 2-3 years? 2023 1st + Suzuki + Dach + Beck. Would be tough to manage minutes especially if our 2023 center is elite/franchise.
Having to many good player is never a issue, also you can always move 1 or 2 of them to the wing Suzuki and Dach already split faceoff duty with Monahan… you could also trade the odd man out.

At this point, just a top 10 pick and i'm very very happy.

This draft is very stacked. Habs are going to be better than last year but playoffs will be very hard to make.

Eduard Sale intrigue me, no one speak about him in their top 7, that's why with a top 10 pick, i'm very happy.

Zach Benson, Calum Ritchie, Brayden Yager, Eduard Sale, Cam Allen, that's sooo good.

I’m in love with Fantilli! Wow!

We need to secure top 3. Bedard, Fantilli, Carlsson! Jesus
Requires a lottery win whether we finish last or 10th last. But ya, one of those 3 would be incredible.

I do wonder where Michkov goes. Wouldn’t shock me if he falls to the back end of the top 10. If we don’t win the lottery and end up picking say 8th or something, having Michkov fall into our laps would be almost as good though would require more patience.

As much as I wish for a Bedard/Carlsson/Fantili… i just can’t see a scenario where we get good development of the kids we have, some value on trade able vets AND a top 3 pick… unless we get incredibly lucky on the lottery or very unlucky on the injury side… since I won’t wish for injuries… I am gonna put my energy on wishing picking the right guy in the 5-9 range and getting extra 1st (Monahan, maybe Eddy) and 2nds 🤞

If 2022 is any indication of scouting prowesses to come… 4 top 40 picks could be HUUGE (trump style) for us

And we go 4-0 against FLA 😅

Last night I was actually wondering if Will Smith would have been ranked higher than Logan Cooley if they’d be in the same draft. It shows you how crazy this draft is, considering Smith is outside the top 10 on most lists.
I recall watching the USNDTP last year and wasnt particulary impressed by Smith, but he was one of the youngest players on the team so not sure how his game evolved...

Top 3 is tough. Vancouver looks like they may be in the race too now. I'm hoping for at least a #4-5 though that would still be stellar. And then maybe with a bit of luck we slip into top 3 who knows.

I would hands down trade Monahan and eddy for the best you can get. Dvo too. By TDL or summer at the latest

It's still far too early to project standings at the end of the season in my mind. For what it's worth, I don't think that a goaltending duo of Allen - Monty will finish as top 5 in the league which is where they are currently at.

Once we're past the first quarter of the season then maybe you'll start to get some grasp on which teams will be in the bottom 10 at the end of the year, with the bottom 5 group only finalising close to the trade deadline.

Brayden Yager is a player I would like to have too. Really depth draft for sure.

Top 5 pick is the perfect thing to have, but having a top 10 pick isn't bad either... with Benson, Yager, Ritchie, Sale, Allen, Stramel, Wood too... that's pretty good names too.

Top 3 will be tough SJ, ARZ, VAN, CHI, ANA maybe even NYI, SEA and WPG... but regarless we need to finish as low as possible.
- Because we need the best pick the proved last year that they were able to take BPA, we want to make sure we have a shot at the player that are on top of our list.
- We want better odds of winning the lottery, doesn't matter where you finish if you win.
- Position affect every round a few spot can be the big difference... imagine 5 spots between Beck or Mitten
