Dach, Slafkovsky, Mesar, Suzuki, RHP…

Dvorsky could fit next to anyone. This team lacks a shooter outside of Caufield and that became painfully evident after Cole got hurt. Dvorsky could be that left handed shot on the other side on the PP, can even win the face off for you…
Slafkovsky is the left handed shot on the other side. His shot is very underrated. That’s where he should be on the PP next season, one of his goal is from that exact position this season.

Slafkovsky has a good shot, but for me he’d be best moving between the high slot and being a net presence on the PP.

Dvorskys shot is a cut above Slafkovskys.

That’s where Dach is.

Slaf needs to be put in situations to use his shot and grow in confidence.

I don't like Slaf in net front, he has puck skills but he has wide puck skills, not in tight skills like JVR.

there's not a lot of spots on the PP in the future with Caufield Suzuki Dach on wave 1, and the likelihood that Hutson or Mailloux occupies the point. Slaf might not get PP1 time.

I like him in the slot when the puck is low, or in front of the net when the puck is high. Same role Toffoli played

Lol so you are blaming me for illustrating the delta of his potential? I never said he would be better than Carlsson, I said he could be (and if I remember correctly, I was talking about their potential as centers specifically, not their potential as players, where Dvorsky is way ahead of Carlsson defensively).

This is a new low...you clearly don't understand what a delta of possibilities is, black and white world right? Most of my arguments about prospects are probabilistic in nature because I recognize that I can be wrong and see many outcomes for each prospect (unlike you it seems).

You can't have too many centers. They can all play wing. Again, when it comes to drafting, needs make for poor arguments, we don't know where we'll be at the center in 3 years when Dvorsky is ready.
Didn’t you have Matt Savoie at first last year…:laugh::laugh::laugh: bombaclaat

Your quote is out of context to your argument. "Yeah, I'm not going to read what you wrote and select words to bold and make a bad argument about it.

Nope. Nemec, Savoie 2nd. you are mocking 1 year after the draft? Sounds like you don't know much about this scouting thing.

Lol I think I know a lot more then you if you really had Savoie 2nd and weren’t worried about his extensive concussion history. He’s getting shown up by Benson this year who’s a whole year younger then him.

How do people see Dvorsky's development going from here on out? He had a good year in the Allsvenskan, but statistically, he's in the thick of things. If you think he's a 1C, what does that path look like? Where does he play next year for example?

The Dvorsky posts will look like Tkachuk posts a few years from here. His qualities are way too good for him not to be a top 6er.

Where I have pause is when you compare him to the likes of Benson, smith, Reinbacher and Cristall who all have similar qualities but higher end offensive games.

I think you'd have to look at options to get him into the SHL next year and put him in the middle. Maybe Rogle where they lost Kasper?

I think Dvorsky is being wildly underrated by most here because he’s not as dynamic as others in the top 10.

I’ll say again, his production in J20 this season has been at a historic pace. And he accomplished this as an absolute force on every inch of the ice. And somehow we have posters complaining that he only had 2 assists in the playoffs.

Well, he’s produced better than Kopitar did in his draft season in both J20 and men’s leagues, even if his play at the pro level left some wanting more (myself included). Kid turns 18 only days before the draft.

I don’t think he’ll ever be the most dynamic player taken outside the top 4, but I do think his ceiling is somewhere around Hossa if he played C. He has all the tools to grow into that kind of player. Not huge, but a strong kid, ultra-competitive in all 3 zones, can turn defence into offence and has a cannon of a shot.

I’d take Benson over Dvorsky because he’s extremely well-rounded but also has a sky-high offensive ceiling.

I see the allure of Smith and Cristall and could see any team picking Smith anywhere as high as 4 if they chicken out on Michkov, but he’s just not a personal favourite of mine. Cristall is way too boom/bust for me that high in the draft.

As for Reinbacher/Dvorsky, I would be happy either way. I see Reinbacher’s skill set being similar-ish to Shea Theodore, but with a better physical game.

That’s a good question, I’d be fine with returning to his league but would hope he’d have an increased role. As another poster said, he played on a line of plugs and frequently was seeing things they weren’t and it cost him production. I’d hope he’d move to a top 6 role and have increased production. Not sure his contract situation, but I also wouldn’t be against him playing in the AHL if at all possible.

AIK actually relied pretty heavily on Dvorsky to be a puck distributor on the power play. It was probably the most impressive thing that I saw from him.

I like @WeThreeKings suggestion of Rögle if that's a possibility. It's a great program.

Don't think he's a clear 1C but actually playing top 6 in Allsvenskan would be a good step up, of course, the best would be to have him either in the AHL or SHL in a top 6 role, but that may be too fast for a young player like him.

Hmmm, yeah I'm worried. But Savoie is still 2nd in my mind. No one in that draft has that speed game. Injury concerns overall is why Matthew's goal for this year was just to stay healthy, mission accomplished thus far. Step by step.

"Shown up by Benson", how is Benson part of the 2022 draft discussion? Do you have any idea how illogical you sound? I've been saying that 2023 is stronger than 2022 from 2020, which included Benson being stronger than Savoie and all of the 2022s.

Ya I’m a fan of Dvorskys PP skills, they should not be doubted. But 5on5 his linemates were prettt bad, numerous times I saw Dvorsky see openings offensively that his linemates simply didn’t. Overall I’m not too concerned about the production questions.

I also agree that Dvorsky could be a solid pick, but not at the expense of Benson (or Michkov) at 5. If we fall to 6-7, then Dvorsky, Reinbacher, Leonard and Smith can all be great options.
At 5 you grab Smith or Benson and dont really think about anything else. However at 6 or 7 you can grab one of Dvorsky, Moore, or Reinbacher

Wouldnt put Benson and Smith in the same category. Benson just screams ppg+ all situations, fan favorite, first line winger. Smith has two many glaring holes in his game. Benson is in a tier of his own and its likely that a team in the top 4 takes him instead of Michkov.
