You know VGK and Cassidy will turn Edstrom into a 70-point player.

It's not a knock on Fox. Fox came up because of the IQ comparisons. You can't deny that Fox is a slow skater.

Fox has pretty elite edges though, that helps.

Anyway saying that Perrault is a bad skater is hysteria. He moves around fine.

He's 163 lbs. He'll grow and his skating will likely grow along with him.

One of the most interesting aspects of this draft is the 3 linemates from the USNDTP all ranked in the top 15 of the draft . Even if we say all 1st rounders I'm not sure if that has ever happened before . We've seen 2 linemates go high ,,,,right off the top of my head Nathan MacKinnon and Jonathon Drouin. Scouts have looked ar Smith and Leonard being the keys to that line but I think there is evidence Perrault could have been more key than leonard. It will be interesting comparing their careers.

NTDP had 4 forwards taken in the top 12 in 2019

Hughes
Turcotte
Zegras
Caufield

IIRC all were slated to go in the top 15.

Wonderful pick by Colorado.

One of the few players (maybe the only player) hyped by Jovo who is actually really good.
Why because he's Russian? Good skater, what else? He skates with the puck and then does what with it? He doesn't score. I've seen him getting leveled across the the ice in the KHL.

That may be why Jovo likes him but no.

Being THAT elusive and getting the puck up ice like he does is so valuable. He's a 3 zone carrier, if thats the only thing he can do at the NHL level he's still an NHL player.

I've seen him get blown up once.

Also his numbers are pretty good across the board. If Russia were able to play at the U-18's he likely goes way higher than he did.

Of course having smart players is preferable but I wouldn’t mind the Rangers adding a meathead or two as well.
Never heard of this guy?
