Dvorsky's defensive acumen has been blown way out of proportion.

Just because he's strong and in good position most of the time doesn't mean he's a Selke caliber talent. See Tavares, Horvat.

Go read any scouting report of D-1 Dvorsky and his defensive game is always noted as something he needed to improve. And while he has, he certainly hasn't gone from a minus defender to an elite level one.

This year he had the 3rd worst +/- in the entire Allsvenskan (worst pace in the entire league had he played as many games as those below him) and worst on his playoff team (finished 10th/14). Then was healthy scratched in the playoffs. I'll tell you one thing, 6'1 200 lbs high-end defensive players do not get benched in the playoffs. If anything their role grows; coaches love that type of player.

The people who think he's the next Danault with high level scoring are in for a rude awakening IMO.

He has the ability to grow into a plus NHL defender, but even in comparison to his peers, is neither as good defensively as Moore or Danielson right now nor has the defensive upside of Moore or Yager long-term.
It was only McCagg who is that high on Dvorsky

I think Hugo are considering Michkov, if hes there i got a good feeling, but hey at least, Leonard could scores a lot of goals with Dach
Leonard is not a bad pick. Heart with skill is a great combination

If Montreal picks Michkov, they will finally have a great draft pick. He is the second best player in this draft

IMO if he’s available at 5 and all of the other big 4 are gone, you need to try to capitalize on trading down to a team that wants Michkov or you simply pick him.

The talent gap between Michkov and Leonard/Reinbacher/Benson is substantial and an asset should be required to bridge the gap and associated risk of passing on him.

Reinbacher now as the best quote to be drafted by the Habs

Slafkovsky had Dvorsky level odds at this point last year.

No team is trading up for Michkov. That has been beaten to death by anyone covering the draft or combine. If a team moves up with Montreal, it would be to secure Reinbacher ahead of Arizona.

Whether people want to accept it or not, teams are concerned about a variety of things on the Michkov dossier and not only are they concerned with using a top 10 pick on the player, they aren't going to spend additional assets to assume that risk.

Literally the only thing that they can do that would make me turn off the TV on draft day

There's a clear indication that there's high odds of him being available at 8 or so, trade down, don't waste the pick without gaining assets

He's not getting passed Arizona.

Put money on Dvorsky, Reinbacher, and Leonard when it was Smith/Michkov as the favourites. At least I'm guaranteed to make some money or get Michkov/Smith.

Is Michkov getting compared to Drouin? Feel like Drou has a bit of Galchenyuk syndrome where his hockey sense is too weak to maximize his tools. Michkov's scouting reports seems to emphasize his hockey sense/smarts.

Let’s go toe to toe on Bird Law and see who comes out the victor.
You besmirched my honour sir. I demand satisfaction!

Arizona is picking Leonard before Reinbacher 100x outta 100.

With Keller and Cooley they needs powerforward much more than D
Is it a real thing to have a power forward under 6’?
Who else fits that profile?

There is tonnnn of smaller forwards who play big games. Marchand, Gallagher, Kunitz, shaw, etc. And those are 5’8-5’9 with heels.

Leonard is 5’11,75 at 18 years old. Thats 6’ in NHL terms. Tkachuk had one inch on him at 6’1 when he was drafted and now he is 6’2. If Leonard gain a single inch he’ll be 6’1.
