5*10 and drinking Vodka at age 3 might scare some teams. Potential candidate at 32.

Him and Lane on the PP? Tired of watching the worst PP in the league regardless of the coach. It's a talent issue.

One of the positives about getting Dvorsky would PP dynamics. Having Hutson feeding him and Caufield for 10+ years would be amazing to see. There's no way Habs could screw that up, right. RIGHT?!

Dvorsky is very good on the PP, but he also does his best work from Suzuki's spot and I think we'd want him on the 1st PP if we're taking him 5th. We could find another spot for him, though.

Speaking of second round, its a shame we couldn't get another 2nd but I've yet to have a viewing of Kalan Lind where he didn't leave an impression.

Guy is unhinged. A plug and play wrecking ball you hate playing against and love having on your side. He'd be worth the 2nd just to see him and Xhekaj troll the shit out of other teams for the next 10 years

Easy solution there as Suzuki moves to the bumper where he played when they had Slaf on the first unit.

I find absurd the arguments and fears conveyed in the speech that Michkov could become a prisoner of Russia, an action that would be taken by Putin in retaliation for the Canada/USA with which his nation is in a "cold war".

This type of behavior is LITERALLY CONTRARY to Russian behavior;

- This nation continues to want to send its athletes to the Olympic Games. It did so under the ROC banner in 2020.

- Russia still wants to send its soccer players to various FIFA tournaments (but they are not allowed).

- Many Russian soccer players play for various European soccer clubs.

One constant is observable: Russia, through its athletes, has historically enjoyed dominating certain sports in the eyes of the world. To suddenly turn in on itself and prevent its athletes from shining at international level is inconsistent with its historical approach.

It's through the past that we can predict the future.

Michkov is going to do his 3-year contract in the KHL, yes!

Mishkov will NOT be imprisoned in Russia, since he brings greater benefit to his homeland by playing abroad than the other way around.
Great post

People need to trust Habs management. They are just drafted Slafkovsky, Beck, Hutson, Engstrom, Rohrer, Mesar (still have good offensive ability, even if he is ahead of Kulich and Lambert). That's a insane potential draft right there.

I'm 100% confident they will select the right player at 5. If it's Reinbacher, I would be disappointed but... they have maybe deals in place to acquire some good young forward aswell, so i'm 100% fine with all choice between, Michkov//Smith//Carlsson//Benson//Leonard//Dvorsky//Moore//Reinbacher

Habs have already a very bright future, let management decide who is going to be the best for make this team better in 2-3 years!

So you doubt the credibility of the professor interviewed?
There's a lot of use of the conditional in his quotes. He doesn't even mention that teams like the Sharks and others have signed Russians since the beginning of the war. Probably doesn't even know.

How would we feel about trading picks 31 and 37 to get to around pick 17?

NFL trade value chart says we could get to pick 15 with those two picks fyi

Interesting Michkov piece there.

I hate these words....super talented but not very competitive. Is he one of these kids that loves putting up points/highlight reel plays but if they don't win, it's not crushing to them?

True but dvorsky likes to go closer to the dot than Suzuki who usually likes to man the point up until the half wall. The problem is Suzuki isn't really a PP QB but still has great tools. I'd be very interested to see if he could play the bumper role effectively

I'd do it if let's say Yager/Barlow/Sale/Willander are still available.

But I doubt it's enough to move up that drastically. Plus I'm pretty sure Hughes wants a goalie with one of those picks.

Is Tom Willander at 5 a move that exists ?
Not in this planet. But nothing is impossible with a few grams of something.

You would’ve loved the Bergevin era “Do U h8 2 lose more than U love 2 win??” drafting strategy.

For once can we have the inscrutable 90pt player who “only” scores 0.9ppg in the playoffs?

I'm all for Mitchy if the vetting process plays out. I'm just wondering if he's another kid that just wants to put up points or will actually do anything to win. It's a real thing

In this case, I think it's more that Michkov is not super interested in the defensive side of things, which happens very often for offensive players.

I don't think it's something you should be worried about though cause at the end of the day, he's always going to tilt the ice in favour of whoever's team he'll play on.

Just a reminder that even Crosby was really bad defensively at the beginning of his career and he learned to be a better 2-way player.

Even McDavid now isn't even that good defensively, but he's just so good offensively that it doesn't matter.

I'm sure he'll learn how to play a better 2-way game, but don't expect Michkov to ever win a Selke. What's good is that he's a winger, so you can just pair him with a more defensively responsible C (ex: Suzuki) that will handle the heavy lifting for him.
