You can’t draft guys based on partnerships. Things change so much from year to year. It’s how you end up with Jarred Tinordi.

Hutson will join the team in a year. You’d likely want a veteran to be with him for 1-2. You’re looking at 3-4 years down the road.
Not drafting guys for partnership is my side of the argument here

There's an abundance of right handed defenseman with size who can skate, transition the puck in the face of pressure, support the offense with a heavy shot while also providing high value defensively?
Considering the hype about this draft Reinbacher has to be a righthanded Hedman if he goes 5th overall...

I think you are discounting this a bit too much. Even if you have a 15 overall pick, you'll hit once every 2-3 shot on that level of talent.
Well I mean that’s true no matter the player.

But Reinbacher shouldn’t be seen as such. He’s the type where we will want to find a guy to play off of him as opposed to just being a crutch for Hutson.
At a certain point you only ice three pairings though. Matheson/Barron was a great pairing for us and won’t be going anywhere. Maybe Guhle/Mailloux ends up a pairing. Plus you’ll have the Hutson pairing and that’s not even counting guys like Xhekaj, Harris, Kovasevic, Engstrom etc

Matthew Tkachuk should be traded for a 7th rounder, he sucked major balls in the playoffs before this year and it’s clearly an outlier. Am I doing this right?
Not really as Tkachuk was Tkachuk all the time...

We have eyes and can see who's getting involved in the play when the game gets tough and so on.

Nope. Another lie, he was terrible in the playoffs before this year. Not to mention that who cares about toughness when your team fails miserably in the playoffs like Tkachuks tenure in Calgary like how you said right?

Kaprizov came back from injury this year and had 7 goals in 6 games last year when you said he wasn’t getting it done. Stop lying, your arguments are laughably inconsistent and wrong.

My friend, what happened this year then?

You keep praising Kaprizov so much!

A winger just can't make the difference...

Is this supposed to mean you think Reinbacher is the next sliced bread?

I think Reinbacher is a perfectly reasonable selection at 5 if Smith and Carlsson are gone and the team doesn't have the guts/will to wait out the Michkov situation.

I also think Leonard, Benson, Wood and Dvorsky are reasonable selections in that scenario, too.

I disagree with any sentiment that makes Reinbachers potential easy to find, and I disagree with this notion that he would be a bad selection because he's not a flashy puck mover.

I know we all want the franchise ppg forward but beyond the top 5, with the Michkov uncertainty, there's not anyone with that profile. Of course someone will, they usually do, but we can't project that right now.

I mean that's the reality buddy...

McJesus can't get through 5 players for a highlight real goal in the PO unfortunately

Matthews can't just coast and wait for a pass for an open net anymore...

Pretty sure I've seen highlights of Mcdavid scoring insane goals like that in the playoffs

More vague than this you drown)

But I do agree that it's an interesting draft with a lot of options.

I just hope they don't draft a D!

We got Monty in the back! f*** the D!))

Higgins looked like he was gonna be a good one. Got into the nose candy though apparently
He was a guy I always say when I went out back then and I used to like 5 times a week, I'd often see lots of players together back then but Higgins would often be alone. He definitely got killed by the city

Since you’re a Smith truther, I’m surprised by this statement. Bedard, Fantilli, Carlsson, Michkov, Smith. That’s 5.

I really like Smith but there's uncertainty with him compared to the top 3.

Michkov and Smith make it 5, but you gotta actually be willing to take Michkov. I don't think we are. Just my sense and hope I'm wrong if Smith is gone.
