Habs are loaded with prospects and young NHL'ers, we won't have enough contracts for all these guys. Imo their plan is to draft more "riskier" picks (goalies) who have a longer development path.

I maybe in the minority on this but I think Michov is over-rated and his play in the KHL will not translate to the NHL., specifically his play away from the puck.

I was hoping Leonard, but okay with Reinbacher.

The Russian goalie is 6foot3 according to Elite Prospects and Russia is a goalie factory. Compare the number of high end NHL goalies from Russia vs high end goalies from the CHL. It's not even the close.

He's also really early in his development. He played u17 in Siberia and not in MHL. I have no clue how they found him all the way up there. It's literally north pole territory.

They always pick players I like before us, it’s crazy.

Won’t lie, all three goalies picks are pretty intriguing. I don’t know why they picked three of them, but individually I like it.

And it’s pretty crazy to get out of there with literally no player with real offensive potential.

Habs are loaded with prospects and young NHL'ers, we won't have enough contracts for all these guys. Imo their plan is to draft more "riskier" picks (goalies) who have a longer development path.

A lot of the prospects are meh. This pool is filled with players who might play 100 games in the NHL.

The Habs will likely just stock pile other team's 4th line.

Thought for the draft Post-mortem : This was supposed to be an offensive heavy draft but it actually is goalie heavy!

It actually was always goalie heavy. One of the deepest goalie drafts ever.

I wanted 2 goalies, but 3 is ok since the Russian is 5 years away - if he ever gets here.
