He is honestly an above average skater, that can get his nose dirty with a great shot. He should project at his peak maybe 40-50pts. It's very good, I do not get all the hate.

Landeskog was injured all year, Burakovsky was traded away, Kadri signed elsewhere, Nichuskin missed 30 games, Mackinnon missed 11.

Call a spade a spade, he wasnt able to establish himself and its pretty much on him. Doesnt mean hes a bust, but it is what it is. No need to make up random excuses.

He still didn't really play much in the top 6 though. Anyways, after Dach couldn't get it going with Kane and Debrincat, I'm willing to give Newhook a shot.

I know folks are upset that we traded 2 picks for Newhook.
I am not at all upset, Newhook playing top 6 minutes under MSL will blossom. This was a good trade.

who wouldn't want to add pick 37 to pick 31 to move up to 16? and Newhook is a 16th overall pick that has progressed well and many believe can take off.

I think fans see it as giving up a Beck and a Hutson for Newhook. But those were exceptional 2nd round picks last year. Probably won't see that again for many years.
