Just gonna say it because it's always me who needs to say things and this fact needs to be out there in the world: Judge is a better player than Soto.
The problem is that Judge is a free agent at age 31 and Soto is a free agent at age 26. Soto is going to get a much bigger contract. Judge may be the better player now but Soto is better now than Judge was when he was 23.

There are lots of other factors. I'm just stating a fact that seems to be lost on some people.

Only thing Soto is better in is hitting IMO and it isn't much of an edge. His biggest edge is age and regression. Soto could get better with his glove, he just needs to be willing to do it.

I'd pay Judge more over each year of his new deal than Soto, but I expect Soto to try and sign his lifetime deal soon. If he is smart, he'd lock in for 4-5 years and hit free agency at 28.

Houston is now 3 1/2 games back we’re gonna have to go play them in the ALCS in Houston.

We do not match up against teams good teams in one run close games in the Aaron Boone era.

Another brutal loss Terrible start of the game to leaving bases loaded we get what we deserved .

Sports Illustrated. Com proposal;

Yankees get: OF Juan Soto

Nationals get: 2B Gleyber Torres, LHP Nestor Cortes, SS Anthony Volpe (MLB No. 8 prospect), OF Jasson Domínguez (MLB No. 39 prospect), LHP Ken Waldichuk (MLB No. 72 prospect)

I expect any deal will have Corbin or Strasberg coming back, even though it may bring back fewer prospects. If the Nationals are sold I think they'll want to reduce or remove their financial commitments.

I'm all for trading Nestor while his value is high, but Jesus Christ.

Why would the Nats even want Cortes? Or even Torres? They are basically doing a tear down rebuild.

The Yankees are already giving their top 2 prospects and possibly their best pitching prospect in that SI deal. That’s enough. The Nats won’t want current age 26+ roster players who won’t be cost controlled much longer

Most of the games have been close. It's not like the Astros are blowing out the Yankees in their losses. Just get home field against them, though.

Make some moves at the deadline and they can beat the Astros.
The overall box scores were close, but in-game play...not so much

Might as well bring Jeter out of retirement, dig up Mantle, and send them too.

The Yankees repeatedly and sustainably lose close games to the Astros because of a systemic problem that they don't think is real.

Therefore, nobody they acquire at the deadline would be fixing the problem.
