That's what his issue was last season too? He already did the rest thing which really makes you wonder how he'll get past this. Lingering problems can really limit effectiveness unfortunately.
Yeah. last year it was a few things IIRC. And he was just playing catch from what I understand when on his last couple of tosses, he felt tightness. His body just can withstand the literal pressures he places on it.

They should trade for another mid-rotation starter now, though the prices will be f***ing ridiculous I'm sure. I honestly feel like deGrom cannot be counted on for anything at this point.

I’ll eat my hat if Degrom pitches before the All Star Break.

I’ve seen a few tweets about the z Mets/Padres talking about a trade.

Dom Smith for Paddock and retained Hosmer

Absolutely awful trade. F. Please do not do this.

Would also be for Emilio Pagan who is a mediocre reliever.

And then apparently the Mets flip Homer because they have no use for him.

I'm torn. It's obviously selling low on Smith but there's also no guarantee Smith rebounds. I'd also like to know what we could possibly get for Hosmer.

There's also those conflicting reports about whether Smith wants to play here in a platoon. IDK.

I’m totally out on this deal. I’m a big Dom believer. But this just adds to it.

My thing with it is with deGrom looking like he might be deDone, and now Scherzer already dealing with shit, they really, desperately need starting pitching depth. I'm not sure this late in the game that they're going to be able to find any decent SP depth in a deal that's favorable to them. So they're either going to need to overpay right now, or wait until the season and potentially have to engage in a bidding war for other guys that enter the market.

There's just not going to be a good deal for them, where they're getting fair value, given that everyone knows the bind they're in.

Yeah I hate him, too. I've said it several times. He's just so un-clutch, I feel like.
He’s the opposite of a ground ball pitcher. And I remember last year, SNY would interview this guy like every other day mid-game as if they want me to like him. Then next appearance he blows the lead.

Third time I’ve seen this game someone pitch up and in on the Mets, and second time someone was hit.

Set the tone for this season and hit them back.

40-13 in the last 53 Opening Days for the Mets. That's very hard to believe.

And who is this Megill and how did he pitch a win?

Another season of failure on the way, maybe one day they’ll get back to doing what actually won championships
