Hoy crap! You're talking about Kupari as a top six C???

There is no planet where I slot Iafallo or Kupari in over Nino, Vilardi, Ehlers, Perfetti, Connor.

Yup give Kupari and/or Barron - or gasp Perfetti - a shot at 4C and see if they dominate at draws... then maybe you move them up in 2024 or after TD... once Scheif is dumped
I think Kup's FO rate was around 54%.

That's why you are no better than Rob Blake.

GM's who never give a player a shot, live to reap the rewards of their stupidity.
You're in outer space this week haha.... Rob Blake never gave Vilardi a chance??? The only reason that Chevy is trading for him is that we saw what he could do... You just said Iafallo was playing top 6 in LA but Blake never gives players a shot...

There's no GM anywhere that would slot Kupari into the top six given this roster

Earth to Wolfhouse,

We weren't talking about Vilardi or Iafallo were we?

We are talking about a player that has never been given a chance at a top 6 spot before.

What about Kupari makes you think he shouldn't be given a shot? He's faster than Perfetti and Vilardi, he hits more than Perfetti and Vilardi, he's bigger than Perfetti or Vilardi he's better at faceoffs than Perfetti and Vilardi, he's shown he can compete in the AHL.

Why not give him a shot? The only reason I can see is you wouldn't want him to succeed there for some really odd reason.

Yeah that's great - he also played ten minutes a game...

Would you have elevated Kevin Stenlund to top 6 at the expense of Perfetti or Ehlers?

To me, Kupari is a Barron/Apples type prospect - yes maybe we plug him into the top 6 if he's lighting it up and we have injury issues.... not a chance I slot him in to start the season

I listed the reasons - we have multiple players that are currently better than him. NONE of us have actually seen Kupari play haha but now he's a Jet so like every offseason ever we are overestimating our prospects.

You can't run FO percentages when a guy is 4th line and 10 mins a game - and compare that with Vilardi who played real minutes.

You've got your rose coloured glasses on. Claiming that Blake prevented Kupari from developing on a team where Kempe, Vilardi and Kaliyev all thrived is ridiculous.

Just stating his face off percentage.

Bones will run some combo of these lines until someone forces their way into the top six

Connor-Scheif-Vilardi
Ehlers/Perfetti-Names-Nino
Ehlers/Perfetti-Lowry-Apples
Iafallo-Kupari-Barron

Before we start barking about not giving Kupari a chance... a fourth line with that size and speed and scoring touch is very rare - Im excited but also rational.

Just stating his face off percentage.
Im definitely not bashing Kupari - I think he's a great addition to the trade... maybe he's a 3C or 2C by the time he's 24-25

Right now, he had 3 goals last year... until I see otherwise he's AJF level and we've seen what happens when those guys get slotted into the top six

Iafallo isn't playing on the 4th line.

So you're bumping Ehlers or Perfetti down to 4th? Or are we magically playing Perfetti at 2C... which is fine with me but that only bumps Iafallo up to 3rd line
I'd play him with Scheif and Perfetti to start.
Ehlers with Names and Nino.

Melonville
Iafallo - Scheifele - Ehlers
Connor - Perfetti - Vilardi
Names - Lowry - Nino
Barron - Kupari - Appleton

Morrissey - Demelo
Samberg - Pionk
Heinola - Schmidt

Bro

Chevy was candid about shopping D, I think Dillon is gone for futures.

Top 6 lines have size and a good defender on each line, our fourth line is 2/3s of our third line last season at the opener
I would like to see Barron and Names trade places. I think Barron has a much higher ceiling and could be top six one day.

On defence, where’s Dillon? I like him more than everyone not named Morrissey.

I really like your second line, though. It could be the first by Christmas.

The best option I see is banking on Vilardi as 2C... its all or nothing though, we could undo all his progress

Connor-Scheif-Nino
Perfetti-Vilardi-Ehlers
Iafallo-Lowryi-Apples
Barron-Kupari-Names

So play the best sniper kfc with no playmaker, smart!
Vilardi is supposed to be a really good playmaker.

"Is a pure playmaker who excels with the puck on his stick. Is creative and an excellent passer, but he can also score goals due to his great hands. Owns a solid frame for the National Hockey League game, too. If he is to become an upper-echelon scorer at the highest level, he will need to continue to work on his skating (which is not his best attribute). Also, he could stand to improve his defensive game. Can play any forward position, which adds value."

Iafallo - Scheifele - Perfetti
Connor - Vilardi - Kupari
Ehlers - Names - Nino
Barron - Lowry - Appleton

They may all be currently better but none of them have proven they can be top 6 C's yet. Little was always better than Scheif until we gave him a chance to prove he could be better.

I'd put money on the opening day lineup being,..

Connor - Scheif - Ehlers
Iafallo - Perfetti - Vilardi
Names - Lowry - Nieds
Barron - Kupari - Appleton

Where it goes from there is anyone guess. But lots of guys should get a chance to move around.

Swap Barron and Names and I could see that... I'm not against Perfetti as 2C but its a bigger gamble than Vilardi

Kupari is coming of a THREE GOAL season... lets give him a chance to hit double digits before we slot him in at 2C haha

He's got all the qualities you look for in a top 6 C. Speed, size, skill, faceoff ability, physicality. No one is slotting him in anywhere but what can it hurt giving him an audition? Kids never gonna thrive with checkers, it's not his game. We might as well just send him back to Finland now if we never plan on giving him a shot.

What you scared of Wolf? Got a bet on the kid never playing higher than bottom 6?
