Heinemen, Farrell, Mesar, Kidney, and Trudeau will almost certainly drop this year.

They were all on the bubble and none had a strong year.

It'll be interesting to see which prospect is ranked 1st this year between Hutson, Reinbacher, and whomever is drafted 5th.

as long as the habs pick the best center they can get. centers can play wing if they have to. the pure talent center would be demidov, but almost as good is the big one Lindstrom afet that their are still more good centers some big enough.

any reason why? .5 PPG at 20 years old in the NCAA isn't particularly special. the habs have had a dozen prospects like that in the past 15 years who never came close to panning out
Sure. It was a tale of two half seasons... the first half he was mired on the 4th line with very little production and then the 2nd half where he got bumped to the 3rd line, then 2nd and eventually promoted to top line duties.

He's listed there at #37 behind the likes of Smilanic, Tourigny, Beaudin, Nurmi, Mittelstadt, Biondi, Legare, Guindon, Mysak, Norlinder... I'd say he's jumped ahead of most of these guys and some of the new draftees will slot in ahead of him, but from the limited viewing I've had - #30 - 32 wouldn't seem unreasonable.

If you're looking for a guy who's gonna play C in the NHL I wouldn't be looking at Lindstrom

Man I thought Mysak and Nurmi were ranked waaaaay too low and expected both to have a great year.

I'm so sad 😢

My boy Fowler did deliver tho.

In terms of after the draft (top of the head):

(Demidov)
1. Hutson
(1st rounder if not Demi)
2. Rein
3. Roy
4. Mailloux
5. Fowler
6. Beck
7. Kapanen
8. Konyushkov
9. Engstrom
10. Volokhin
11. Xhekaj

Other guys I like for depth:
Farrell
Simoneau
Tuch

Trade chips:
Mesar
Kidney

I could see 2 of those guys in the top I listed get traded if we are active at the draft and I could even be forgetting someone

The McKeen’s 2024 Prospect Report was just released, and Reinbacher was ranked the 17th best prospect in hockey. Our boy Ryan Leonard is 6th..

The Habs list:

1. Reinbacher (17)
2. Hutson (27)
3. Roy (35)
4. Mailloux (45)
5. Fowler (52)
6. Beck (110)
7. Farrell (118)
8. Dobes (125)
9. Kapanen (126)
10. Konyushkov (170)
11. Mesar (173)
12. Engstrom (175)
13. Kidney (191)
14. Heineman
15. Trudeau

It’s Hutson in all scenarios.
Hutson is vastly overrated. He’s like Markov before Markov learned to play D, except Markov was making the transition from C. We’ll see if Hutson can put up enough power play points to balance the goals given up and the time stuck in their zone. He definitely has skills but it’s far from certain that he’s an NHLer much less a star. I liked what I saw on offense but I really didn’t like the D.

4 guys in top 50 is not bad at all, particularly since Slafkovsky would be the #1 on the entire list but he's graduated.
