The McKeen’s 2024 Prospect Report was just released, and Reinbacher was ranked the 17th best prospect in hockey. Our boy Ryan Leonard is 6th..

The Habs list:

1. Reinbacher (17)
2. Hutson (27)
3. Roy (35)
4. Mailloux (45)
5. Fowler (52)
6. Beck (110)
7. Farrell (118)
8. Dobes (125)
9. Kapanen (126)
10. Konyushkov (170)
11. Mesar (173)
12. Engstrom (175)
13. Kidney (191)
14. Heineman
15. Trudeau
Way low on Engstrom for me. He's 6'2, mobile and can move the puck.

Scott Wheeler top 100 prospects, Canadiens had 6 in top 100. Surprisingly Beck never made it. Demidov was 3. Hutson was 26. Reinbacher was 38, Hage 41. Roy 68 and Mailloux 71.

Habs one of only three clubs to post 6 in top 100.

I was reviewing the drafts past 10 years.

In each year, about 2-3 prospects from our depth chart makes it. So about 10-15%.

Just saying we tend to overthink prospects but about 80% of draft prospects on each team don’t make it.

Looking closer usually the top 1-3 rounds on our team has a shot at making it. So most likely we will see Demidov, Hage, Reinbacher, Mesar, Beck, Fowler, Mailloux etc. The rest of the guys are probably not going to make it except for Roy.

I wouldn't look at it that way, yes it's 100% correct that fans will overthink or overrate their prospects as it's the nature of sports as prospects bring hope/excitement for the future.

The stats showing results over a 12 year period were extremely alarming as to how tough it really is to draft and develop talent in the NHL once you get past that top 21st picks the #'s really start dropping fast. But that's why you need good scouts, coaches and a good development team in place. Hughes is smart from the sounds of it, so I'm not worried about how he views the prospects.

I like the list. Engstrom, Heineman and Farrell all way higher than I would have them. Fowler is way too low. Otherwise, it looks good to me.
