Sens fan coming in peace.

Would you guys consider something along the lines of

Alex Debrincat (with pre-negotiated extension)

For

Michael Rasmussen
NYI 1rst (18th)
Carter Mazur

Too much?

No. I'd rather keep Ras and see if maybe Mazur can be a little pain in the ass goal scorer. His offense hasn't as of yet started dropping as he progresses from level to level.

Oh yeah, and I'm not moving the 17th (SIXTY SEVEN!) for a guy that can just as likely sign his QO and hit UFA next summer.

Mazur's stock has soared lately so you're going to get a lot of resistance on that piece.

But Ras and the NYI 1st are a solid foundation to get talks started. You're not far off.

I'm more bullish on DeBrincat than some here, though, so you're going to see a range of opinions.

Veleno and Sutter should be resin. I hope Yzerman doesn't go after big name, maybe first line LD, that is all

The last Sens fan who came here offering DeBrincat for Raymond, harmed his/her feelings over my straight forward answer. So here's a kind answer.

Dear ma'm or sir

I hear by decline this offer due to our dear leader's comments, of Red Wings need to become bigger and tougher to play against. Trading away Rasmussen and Mazur takes away lot of grit and toughness from our offensive core. Ras has just started to realize his size and strength, and in the best possible scenario Ras could be another Tage Thompson. Mazur could be Bertuzzi's replacement. DeBrincat is looking for a quite big contract and i don't believe that Yzerman is willing to pay that much to a one dimensional winger. Red Wings also doesn't have a playmaker to feed DeBrincat, to make him really worth of his contract.

Too much. Take out Mazur and add a second this year. Done.

Some around here won't like getting rid of Rasmussen, but Ras for Debrincat ultimately is a net-positive.

I have floated out there: BOS 1st next year, one of the seconds this year, and zadina (for our pleasure, most likely not yours). If he doesn't want to sign with you, then his trade value is considerably less than if that was never leaked out.

Value Seems a little rich from my point of view.

Roster wise I don’t like it at all

Honest question. Do you just hate Walman and Edvinsson? Or Maatta for that matter? LD is the one single position this organization does not need any more of in any capacity.
I like them all, just want Seider played with real first line LD , one season fine , as long as he could learn from guy

I'd do it.... without much hestitation. I like Mazur and Rasmussen has grown some... but DeBrincat's a 40 goal scoring winger. He's by far the best player in that trade.

He's also very one dimensional. And, 5'7".

If Detroit can get him for like, 18th and a 2nd ok.

I wouldn't trade those players for him though.

Not interested.
Debrincat just went from 41 to 27 goals, He somehow went -31 on a pretty solid team.
I don't see this team building a core around Debrincat - just like you don't.
Which is why you're trying to trade him.

Red Wings will be interested in Debrincat after few years, when his real level will setup as a 27-goal scorer.

Those 40-goal pipe dream seasons happened with generational playmaker Patty Kane and there's at least 50% of inflation on his scoring.

So the contract ask won't meet him. Guy is not enywhere near as 9M player. Score few more seasons that 27-goal pace and Yzerman will call you and offer more realistic 6M deal.

A pretty conservative estimation of Rasmussen and Mazur is that they can both be 20+ goal scorers who provide a lot of defensive value and grit. Even without including pick #17 that's a trade that looks awful unless Debrincat reliably pots 40 and not 25-ish like this season.

I really like Ras but I wouldn’t say 20+ goals is “conservative” when he’s never produced that and wasn’t pacing to produce that this season.

I'd take a flyer on Laf depending on the cost. Very well could explode in the right system with the right guys by him.

I did put Severson on excluded list at the time Hronek was still on team. They played exactly same role and I couldn't find a fit.

But now, when Hronek is gone, why not getting Severson to fill his hole?

And I would still go after Mayfield to have PK ability and some nastiness and huge size as 6'5.

Like, we would upgrading Lindström and Hronek with these guys. Definitely better and legit defence.

Walman - Seider
Määttä - Severson
Chiarot - Mayfield
Edvinsson (injured)

This would give us a nice logjam and great handnesses. Maybe start considering trades or 11+7 system Lalonde has been mentioning sometimes.

But overall legit vet defence with size and 2 youngster stars pushing in.

Sure, call it 15-20 for Ras if you don’t believe he’ll improve or see more icetime going forward. Doesn’t change the point. And DeBrincat was nowhere near 40 goals this season.
