Bergeron getting hurt in game 82 is so ridiculously unforgivable, lol.

Anyway on the Forbort tip, if Bergeron isn't going to be around for the PK, is it really that shocking that coach would consider:

Bergeron SH/TOI: 1:46
Forbort SH/TOI: 3:08

Obviously they play different positions on the PK, but coach is probably very conscious of the hit his PK takes, and wants to bump up that element. Or hey maybe Gryz starts and it's all much ado about nothing.

My sense is Forbort is gonna go. The third D pairing probably won't play a ton of hockey anyway. 12 minutes even strength? 13 maybe? And with last change he's gonna shelter them as he needs. I get the decision.

And Forbort got completely annihilated against the Hurricanes despite having two healthy shoulders.
And Gryz's father continue's to pump his tires . The argument can be made for any two of the three that you play Forbort ,Clifton or Gryz. Not sure which two you start with ,but if any of the three are a weak link please remove

It seems to be that they think it's at least a possibility that Bergy won't play game 1, otherwise it would have made more sense to have Zacha in his proper assigned spot in practice, which appears to be 3RW, rather than centering the top line. They could have had Freddy or someone else fill in there if it were known to be only for practice. Not ruling Patrice out, but feels like they have their contingency in place just in case.

next to the bench
Night and day for anyone I've known that's gotten a new hip or knees. I was skeptical a decade ago but the results I've witnessed are fantastic. What's your timetable?

Glad your daughter made it to Montreal. We honestly flipped a coin between there and Vancouver a long time ago. We're not good with decisions.
I am meeting with the surgeon May 11th. My hope is to get it done right after the Bruins win the cup. My other needs to be replaced too but one at a time

Grzcelyk has had some of the worst playoff games I can remember from a Bruins defenseman over the last few years.

I know he always has good regular season stats, but I have no problem with them benching him in the playoffs. Also fine if they want to start out with him in the lineup as long as they are willing to make the change if he turns into a turnover machine again.

Does anyone know the Gate time for tomorrow? Is it the normal 1 hour prior to the game, or is it earlier with it being the playoffs?

I kind of feel like, based on nothing concrete, just anecdotal recall, that it was still kind of frowned upon into the 80s. After that, though . . .
Bill Barber, who started his NHL career in the 1972-73 season, is generally considered the first "diver" in NHL history. I'm sure it was done before, but Barber turned it into an art form. And he didn't even play for the Canadiens. He played for the Flyers when they were the dirtiest team in hockey. Just his way of cheating, I guess.

He hasn't played for a while now.

Don't see any need to throw him in Game 1 of the playoffs.

The Boston Bruins announced today, April 16, a variety of initiatives in advance of the 2023 Boston Bruins Playoffs, presented by Rapid7.

Playoff Rally Towels
All fans attending Bruins playoff games at TD Garden will be given a special gold playoff rally towel upon entering the building through the turnstiles. Rally towels will be provided courtesy of Rapid7 (Home Game 1) and Arbella Insurance (Home Game 2).

Light Pole Banners
The Bruins have partnered with the City of Boston in celebrating playoff season by installing light pole banners on streets surrounding TD Garden.

Fan Banner Captains
Fan Banner Captains for the 2023 Playoffs will include members of the New England community who have provided inspiration to the city of Boston through hard work, perseverance and resilience. Each playoff game at TD Garden will have a Fan Banner Captain that will be honored in-game and on all Bruins channels.

Playoff Gear at the ProShop
Fans can gear up for the playoffs at the ProShop, powered by ’47, or online at BostonProShop.com. Exclusive playoff merchandise includes a playoff sweatshirt, t-shirt, hat, novelty items and more, available both online and in-store for a limited time only. And, while supplies last, fans will receive a playoff rally towel with Bruins purchases of $25 or more made online at BostonProShop.com.

Playoff Fan Posters
Kids are encouraged to show their support for the Bruins by sending in homemade or hand drawn posters that will be hung inside TD Garden. All posters should be mailed to Boston Bruins Community Relations, 100 Causeway Street, Suite 14, Boston, MA 02114.

Pregame Celebration at the Hub on Causeway
Prior to Monday’s game, a celebration will be held at the Hub on Causeway to kick off the 2023 Playoff series against the Florida Panthers in Boston.

This celebration will include music from local DJ Ryan Brown, giveaways and photo opportunities with Blades beginning two hours ahead of puck drop. Fans can fuel up at Banners Tap and Kitchen or Hub Hall before the game.

During this time, Canal Street will become a car-free zone for fans to gather.

Spirit Days
The Boston Bruins will be visiting several elementary and middle schools around New England to get kids excited about upcoming playoff games.

50/50 Raffle
The Boston Bruins Foundation 50/50 Raffle, presented by DraftKings, will benefit the Boston Marathon Survivors Fund in conjunction with the Greg Hill Foundation for Game 1 to support, honor and remember those affected by the Boston Marathon tragedy.

Rapid7’s chosen beneficiary for Game 2 is Hack.Diversity, an organization dedicated to transforming the economy by breaking down barriers for Black and Latine/x professionals in tech.

The remainder of the 50/50 Raffle will support the Boston Bruins Foundation in their efforts to collaborate with charitable organizations that demonstrate a commitment to health and wellness, education, and athletics.

Additionally, the Boston Bruins Foundation is providing registered 501(c)(3) organizations that support Boston Marathon initiatives an opportunity to apply and participate alongside the Round 1 50/50 Raffle. Eligible nonprofit organizations can apply at
Boston Bruins Foundation

The 50/50 Raffle will run through the day after Round 1 concludes. Tickets can be purchased at BostonBruins.com/5050.
