Another great comparison. Bedard has a better shot than Yzerman. His backhand is better than most nhl’ers shot.

This draft has 2 generational talents, 5 talented centers with size and a sprinkling of wingers and defenseman that could push some of those big C's out of the top 10.

We're going to get a great player, whether the team over-achieves or not.

I'll be cheering for wins this season.
Curious who you classify as the 5 talented centers with size. I count 6 in Fantilli, Carlsson, Dvorsky, Stramel, Yager, and Ritchie

Martin St. Louis but bigger? Bedard seems like more of a finisher though. Theo Fleury with a more complete game and without personal problems? Maybe Giroux?

As a best possible outcome or realistic outcome? I know the hype on this kid is immense, that's a filthy combination.
I just literally watched him play in person on a garbage team in Regina where the second best olayer was a year younger and he put up 51 goals. He’s the real deal.

I had season tickets to the Pats last year. Ive seen him play many many times. The hype is real.

not sure i see Stramel as a center in the future.

The hype is he could score 500 goals. That much hype.

Realistic I'd say. Of course we'll never know until he's in the show, but people had crazy comps on McDavid too. McDavid met the hype and has been the best player drafted since Lemeiux in my opinion. According to his coach in Regina, Bedard controls the puck and skates like Kane, but with a much better shot and plays with the intensity of Yzerman. That doesn't sound awful.

Stylistically, I'd say Kucherov.
I don’t think goal scorer with him. I know he is. But I think of slippery, electric eel, playmaker.

Bedard is a little more simple and has a killer shot. More like a pint-sized Matthews, to me.

I think I like Pasta as a comp. But more of a bowling ball version.

It sounds like just what we need. Even comes with “optionality” (thanks Johnny Boy) which is nice given we aren’t sure if Cooley, Geekie, Hayton, McBain, Smith, etc.

Move Benson down 5 slots, move Ritchie up 1 slot and call it good.
Bensen is very good. He stole the top spot on the PP from the guy who was drafted 9th overall last year by Buffalo. An amazing talent. He and Yager are in the same mold and I don't think Ritchie is far behind them.

Benson could be better than Yager, for sure. He was often better than Geekie and Savoie (perhaps even “usually” better). I just love Yager’s game, so much. Same with Bedard and Fantilli, though. Love the approach and style for all of them for different reasons.
